Episode: “Western Wall”
The Western Wall, once called “Wailing Wall,” now called HaKotel (The Wall), is the closest Jewish people can get to the site of the Holy of Holies. After Myles shows us a Bar Mitzvah celebration at the Wall, we hear how King David purchased the threshing floor atop Mount Zion. Guests include Hannah Ben-Haim and Eitan Shishkoff.
Series: “Zion Forever”
This long-awaited, nine-part series looks back at Israel’s history and forward into prophecy while remembering the present status of the Temple Mount, the most contested real estate on Earth. Throughout the series, we hear from Our Man in Haifa Eitan Shishkoff, and Zola Levitt’s music complements the narrative and scenes of Israel.

  • 10:37 Exactly
  • 10:38 And then of course
  • 10:39 he chooses to fall into the hand of God.

  • 12:30 Remember this would be outside of the City at that time.

  • 12:39 of an enormous piece of bedrock

  • 12:51 And that's what David approaches
  • 12:53 the Jebusite Araunah.

  • 13:25 Sacrifice must cost you.
  • 13:26 It's you giving to the mighty God.

  • 13:32 If you notice... 50 silver shekels.
  • 13:35 And here we have the contract right here in the Word of God.

  • 14:38 But initially when we start thinking about the Temple
  • 14:41 and the Temple Mount
  • 14:43 and all that's there now
  • 14:45 it's very interesting that

  • 14:49 all believe that the final judgment area
  • 14:52 on the face of the earth
  • 14:53 is the Temple Mount
  • 14:55 Now David saw that.
  • 14:56 And he writes about it...
  • 15:00 And that's the picture of the threshing floor.

  • 15:04 his seed...
  • 15:05 that his seed would be on this throne forever.

  • 15:11 The Tribe of Judah the seed of David.

  • 15:15 The threshing floor itself
  • 15:17 there is an incredible parallel
  • 15:18 with what's going on in the modern world.
  • 15:20 Please... tell us about that.
  • 15:22 A threshing floor...
  • 15:23 Now a lot of us because we're not agrarian today
  • 15:25 don't understand that.
  • 15:27 So a threshing floor is where you bring the harvest in.
  • 15:29 Now we're talking about wheat or barley;
  • 15:32 the staple of life if you'd like.
  • 15:36 And you would come at the end of the season
  • 15:39 with your wheat and your barley
  • 15:41 and you would bring the sheaves to the threshing floor.
  • 15:45 Now, you'd lay the sheaves down on the threshing floor
  • 15:49 after they had dried in the field.
  • 15:50 And actually...
  • 15:52 immediately after Pesach
  • 15:53 we start counting the Omer.
  • 15:55 And that's the sheaves for the wheat harvest.
  • 15:58 So every day they went out and cut some of the wheat.
  • 16:01 And then you have to do something kind of awful.
  • 16:05 Excuse me for saying that.
  • 16:06 You need a threshing sledge.
  • 16:08 Yes.
  • 16:10 Now a threshing sledge is sort of a big, chunky, teethy, heavy
  • 16:14 not very beautiful item.
  • 16:16 And it must be dragged across the sheaves
  • 16:20 that are placed there on the threshing floor.
  • 16:22 You know in the book of Isaiah,
  • 16:24 Isaiah 41, he says...
  • 16:32 That means they were new and fresh and ready to cut up.
  • 16:36 And what you do is
  • 16:37 you drag that threshing sledge across the threshing floor
  • 16:41 and you keep dragging it, and keep dragging it.
  • 16:44 And at the end it is absolutely chopped up into little bits.
  • 16:48 It is a mess!
  • 16:50 Now, talk about the end of the age.
  • 16:52 You don't think it's going to be a little confusing who's who?
  • 16:54 It's getting messy.
  • 16:55 It's getting messy...
  • 16:57 It's getting messy.
  • 16:58 Now, in the book of Matthew
  • 17:00 we hear John speaking to us, alright?
  • 17:03 In Matthew 3 he says...
  • 17:20 Now, there's the update.
  • 17:22 That's what the LORD is about to do.
  • 17:24 So after God uses, unfortunately Israel
  • 17:27 to be the threshing sledge.
  • 17:29 This was His choice.
  • 17:30 And after, we know,
  • 17:32 the nations will be brought to this place
  • 17:34 for harvesting the seed which will go into the barn.
  • 17:38 Judgment of sheep and goat nations.
  • 17:40 Absolutely, we're talking about separation.
  • 17:42 We're talking about that which has weight
  • 17:45 and that which has no substance;
  • 17:47 hay, wood and stubble.
  • 17:48 You have to separate them.
  • 17:51 Now, weight is of course the picture of Glory itself.
  • 17:56 God has put His glory in us as seeds of righteousness for Him.
  • 18:01 And so that weight which is the same word as glory
  • 18:06 will of course bring the seed to the ground.
  • 18:09 So, when the LORD of the harvest,
  • 18:12 whom we know who he is,
  • 18:13 will take His winnowing fork
  • 18:16 and start throwing this mess up in the air;
  • 18:18 that which has no weight
  • 18:20 will blow into unquenchable fire.
  • 18:22 Alright?
  • 18:24 That is pretty good picture of some place I don't want to go.
  • 18:26 Alright?
  • 18:27 I don't know about you.
  • 18:28 But that's not where I want to go.
  • 18:29 But that which has weight will fall to the ground.
  • 18:31 Kavod
  • 18:32 Kavod...it will fall to the ground.
  • 18:36 His "Glory" will bring us down, if you'd like.
  • 18:39 And you know my favorite part of that scripture in Matthew is
  • 18:43 "He will thoroughly cleanse His threshing floor.
  • 18:47 He won't leave any of it behind.
  • 18:49 He'll bring it all into the barn.
  • 18:51 This is that picture of the end of the age.
  • 18:53 But the big operation
  • 18:56 of this separation
  • 18:57 only will come with wind.
  • 19:00 Wind
  • 19:01 Wind is that which the harvester will throw it up
  • 19:05 only when there's a good wind.
  • 19:06 Now, we have a nice prevailing western wind in Jerusalem.
  • 19:09 And of course, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out.
  • 19:13 It usually starts around
  • 19:14 2:00 in the afternoon.
  • 19:16 And so we have this picture of
  • 19:18 the harvester waiting for the wind.
  • 19:21 Now, that word wind "ruach"
  • 19:23 has two other meanings.
  • 19:25 One is of course "the Spirit";
  • 19:27 a "ruach" is Spirit.
  • 19:29 The other one is "the Breath of God Himself"
  • 19:32 WOW..
  • 19:33 Now "Ruchi" God's breath is not my breath.
  • 19:37 It's not even similar to what in Hebrew is my breath.
  • 19:41 So God uses His Spirit as the breath to separate between that which will fall to the ground
  • 19:47 and that which will be carried into that unquenchable fire.
  • 19:51 That's the picture of the threshing floor.
  • 19:54 That place of separation.
  • 19:55 That final judgment.
  • 19:57 Yes
  • 19:58 And that barn coming down from that Holy Jerusalem.
  • 20:02 WOW!...Awesome!
  • 20:03 Thank you.

  • 20:43 You know a pilgrimage to
  • 20:44 God's Land, His Holy Land
  • 20:46 there's nothing like it.
  • 20:48 It's where you see the
  • 20:49 prophetic scriptures come alive.
  • 20:51 You're going to see the
  • 20:53 fulfillment that he said
  • 20:54 he would bring the Jewish
  • 20:55 people back to the Land,
  • 20:57 he would establish them
  • 20:58 in their ancient homeland
  • 20:59 and that he would
  • 21:00 cause it to bloom.
  • 21:01 And it's where
  • 21:02 our Messiah came,
  • 21:04 died and will soon return.
  • 21:06 So we invite you to come with us
  • 21:08 and see for yourself
  • 21:10 a little bit of where
  • 21:12 you'll be spending
  • 21:13 1,000 years with our LORD.
  • 21:14 That's good.
  • 21:16 A lot of what we do together as Jew and Gentile
  • 21:18 is celebrate the goodness of God.
  • 21:20 And what He's showed us in Ephesians 2:14
  • 21:23 that there's a time coming,
  • 21:25 He came to the cross,
  • 21:26 when He will break down
  • 21:27 the middle wall of partition
  • 21:29 so that Jews and Gentiles could worship Him together.
  • 21:31 And one of the great things
  • 21:32 about this work that's going on right now is that
  • 21:35 that awakening is increasing around the world.
  • 21:38 As we go to "Our Man in Haifa"
  • 21:40 Eitan Shishkoff
  • 21:42 I want you to be listening
  • 21:43 for the connection between
  • 21:45 the Tanakh's story of the Jews and Gentiles together
  • 21:48 and the B'rit Hadeshah;
  • 21:50 the Old Testament, the New Testament.
  • 21:51 The connection of this work that God is doing
  • 21:54 in bringing Jews and Gentiles together
  • 21:56 and what that means prophetically
  • 21:58 for the future.
  • 21:59 Let's go to Eitan in Israel.
  • 22:03 Shalom and welcome.
  • 22:05 I am being joined this afternoon by
  • 22:06 Mosha and Roni
  • 22:07 who it turns out
  • 22:09 are neighbors of mine.
  • 22:10 We live here in the same area.
  • 22:12 And as you can see and hear behind me
  • 22:14 we're at the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
  • 22:17 And the Mediterranean has great significance in the scriptures.
  • 22:21 In the Hebrew scriptures we read in the book of II Chronicles
  • 22:25 that it was along these waters that King Hiram from Tyre
  • 22:31 which is just up into today's Lebanon
  • 22:33 sent massive timbers, supplies and manpower
  • 22:37 to Solomon to build the original Temple in Jerusalem.
  • 22:41 To me that's a fantastic example
  • 22:44 of the kind of cooperation between Jews and Gentiles
  • 22:48 that's being called for today.
  • 22:51 In fact, I love this story
  • 22:53 in which appears in I Chronicles
  • 22:56 and then II Kings.
  • 22:58 Solomon looked to Hiram;
  • 23:00 he actually asked him
  • 23:02 to assist him in the process of building the Temple.
  • 23:06 And this process was something that
  • 23:08 involved the personnel as I mentioned
  • 23:11 and the material from Lebanon
  • 23:14 from up over the border.
  • 23:16 In fact, we're not very far from that border right now.
  • 23:18 And if it was a clear day
  • 23:20 we would be able to see
  • 23:22 the border with Israel and Lebanon.
  • 23:24 So this cooperation was profound
  • 23:27 because Solomon needed
  • 23:29 the resources and the friendship of Hiram
  • 23:33 in order to complete the Temple.
  • 23:35 The Temple was built.
  • 23:37 And when the Temple was completed
  • 23:39 there was a dedication.
  • 23:41 That dedication was something amazing.
  • 23:43 Because we read in the scriptures
  • 23:45 that the Glory in the presence of God
  • 23:48 descended as a cloud upon that place.
  • 23:52 Now, to me that's an image of
  • 23:54 what the God of Israel wants to do again
  • 23:56 through the cooperation of Jewish and Gentile followers
  • 24:00 of the Messiah Yeshua.
  • 24:02 And I appreciate these gentlemen joining me
  • 24:05 in order to make this statement
  • 24:07 that we are looking for
  • 24:09 that kind of partnership once again today.
  • 24:13 You know, for over 20 years
  • 24:15 Myles and I have been contending
  • 24:17 by the heart of God,
  • 24:19 he put his heart in our heart,
  • 24:20 to contend to build
  • 24:21 bridges between Jews and Christians
  • 24:23 and to understand Biblically
  • 24:25 where we stand and what God is doing.
  • 24:28 And we can align with His Word
  • 24:30 and not with our opinions
  • 24:32 because I think so much of our life
  • 24:34 we have to really not filter it
  • 24:36 through our humanistic love
  • 24:38 or justice view.
  • 24:41 But the God view of mankind
  • 24:43 and what his plan is.
  • 24:45 Really, it's a sovereignty issue.
  • 24:47 And we need his discernment more than ever.
  • 24:49 I love what Daniel says.
  • 24:51 It says...
  • 24:58 That's really true.
  • 24:59 And to take action
  • 25:00 we need wisdom to know
  • 25:01 which actions to take.
  • 25:02 I'm thinking about the many times
  • 25:04 that we've stood with our Arab-Christian friends
  • 25:06 bringing sound systems to our Churches
  • 25:09 and helping to raise funds
  • 25:10 for different outreaches to the Muslim community.
  • 25:12 And yet, during this time now
  • 25:15 we realize that as that is going on
  • 25:17 there's this pressure on the Arab believers in the Land
  • 25:21 to divorce themselves from the Messianic body.
  • 25:24 And we are praying for
  • 25:25 that unity that Eitan was referring to.
  • 25:27 But it has to be in spirit and in truth.
  • 25:29 Those that know the LORD
  • 25:31 will worship Him in spirit and in truth.
  • 25:33 And the pressure is there to draw back
  • 25:35 and to become almost subservient
  • 25:38 to a message that is against Israel.
  • 25:40 And that's very dangerous.
  • 25:41 Right, to try to...
  • 25:43 we usually like to say,
  • 25:45 walk through the raindrops.
  • 25:47 You know, sometimes we're going to get wet
  • 25:49 if we stand with what God says.
  • 25:50 Sometimes there's going to be consequences
  • 25:52 but we need to take those actions
  • 25:54 because we want to be on the side of the LORD
  • 25:56 and not on the side of just being kind
  • 26:00 or appeasing for the sake...
  • 26:03 I think we're not saying as clearly as we could Myles.
  • 26:06 We could just come right out and say
  • 26:08 there's some Christian organizations
  • 26:10 that have withdrawn their support of Israel
  • 26:13 because they are viewing it through
  • 26:16 a humanistic love lens
  • 26:18 and not the scriptural lens.
  • 26:19 Exactly, and they're looking for a peace and justice
  • 26:21 or a human solution that is not God's issue.
  • 26:24 You said it exactly.
  • 26:24 You said "sovereignty".
  • 26:26 And this is an issue of God's sovereignty.
  • 26:28 God called the Jewish people back to the Land.
  • 26:30 He prophesied it then He did it.
  • 26:31 He is establishing them in the Land.
  • 26:33 He prophesied it and He is doing it.
  • 26:35 And now,
  • 26:36 there is the water of the Word
  • 26:37 the water of the Spirit
  • 26:38 that's coming on all flesh
  • 26:40 including the Jewish people in the Land
  • 26:42 so that we would cry out,
  • 26:44 "Baruch Haba B'Shem Adonai"
  • 26:45 "Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the LORD"
  • 26:48 At the same time that is going on
  • 26:50 some organizations are divorcing themselves
  • 26:53 from that establishing of God in the Land.
  • 26:56 And that is a very dangerous place to be.
  • 26:58 We do not want to be opposing
  • 27:00 what God is doing in the earth.
  • 27:02 Amen
  • 27:03 And that's why we always end our program
  • 27:05 with this spiritual injunction
  • 27:07 from Psalm 122:6.
  • 27:09 The only place in the Word
  • 27:11 that a town is called for us to pray for
  • 27:13 which is Jerusalem.
  • 27:15 And we say to you;
  • 27:16 we ask you to hold this tightly to your heart.
  • 27:19 Sha'alu Shalom Yerushalayim
  • 27:21 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
