  • 00:04 We answer letters and address issues
  • 00:06 that you should hear about.
  • 00:07 Stay with us.
  • 00:26 Brethren... My heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel
  • 00:30 is that they might be saved.
  • 00:33 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek,
  • 00:36 for the same LORD over all is rich unto all that call upon Him
  • 00:52 Shalom, and welcome to our program. I'm Myles Weiss.
  • 00:54 And I'm Katharine Weiss.
  • 00:55 And we want to welcome you to our program.
  • 00:57 It's more of a heart to heart little chat.
  • 00:59 We love hearing from you.
  • 01:01 And your letters to us mean so much.
  • 01:03 So, we'd like to answer some of those today.
  • 01:06 Yeah, this first one is very interesting Katharine.
  • 01:08 It's a heartfelt plea on behalf of a Gentile believer.
  • 01:13 Here's what she says,
  • 01:28 And this is something that might seem very odd to some of our viewers.
  • 01:31 You might think that, how strange?
  • 01:33 Why would anybody who's found the LORD or been found by the LORD want to convert to Judaism?
  • 01:38 But it speaks in this case about something that's a very sincere
  • 01:41 desire to understand where Christianity comes from;
  • 01:45 to understand the roots of the Christian faith and our connection...
  • 01:49 our deep connection with the Jewish people and with Israel.
  • 01:52 But at the same time it also goes against what the Scripture tells us,
  • 01:56 whatever state we find ourself in we are to remain.
  • 02:00 God has a unique anointing on your life Cindy,
  • 02:04 as a Gentile person who loves Israel and wants to see the restoration of Israel;
  • 02:09 and wants to see the revival of Israel come forth.
  • 02:13 Life from the dead...
  • 02:14 She's asking to see that with her own eyes.
  • 02:17 You know it says in I Corinthians 7:24,
  • 02:26 And that for me is truly profound.
  • 02:29 I am a Gentile.
  • 02:31 I come from...I'm Irish, German, Scottish and English
  • 02:34 So I am very European.
  • 02:37 You look Jewish.
  • 02:38 I do look Jewish but I'm not.
  • 02:40 And I feel there's a distinction that is very good for me to keep
  • 02:45 so that I can...
  • 02:47 It also says in I Corinthians 10:32,
  • 02:50 it's one of my favorite scriptures...
  • 02:58 God has 3 distinct people groups that he is speaking to.
  • 03:02 And those 3 distinct people groups have distinct callings.
  • 03:06 And if we all try to pretend that we're something or convert to something,
  • 03:10 we're nullifying our unique call.
  • 03:12 Not only so, but really the bookend of that, it goes back to Acts 15
  • 03:18 where the first issue in the Church was,
  • 03:21 should the Gentiles become Jewish, get circumcised
  • 03:25 in order to follow the Jewish Messiah?
  • 03:27 It was settled back in Acts 15
  • 03:29 that in fact that was not necessary.
  • 03:31 And for me as a Jewish person at the end of the age
  • 03:34 it's as important for my family, for my legacy, for my children;
  • 03:39 for everyone to know that I am still a Jew although I am a follower of Jesus.
  • 03:44 Now this is a mind boggling proposition for many people.
  • 03:48 But we're not converting from Judaism.
  • 03:50 It's not a sin to be a Jew.
  • 03:52 We're converting from sin to following the Jewish Messiah,
  • 03:55 who's also the Savior of the world.
  • 03:58 And to say that you don't need to convert to Judaism to be closer to God.
  • 04:03 Now I want to say that again.
  • 04:05 Just because God has an election and he chose the Jewish people
  • 04:09 and he ordained them to be a light
  • 04:11 and he ordained that the Messiah would come through them.
  • 04:14 It doesn't mean that the Gentile church; that they're second class citizens
  • 04:20 and that you have to...
  • 04:21 We call it to "dress up" to be closer to God.
  • 04:24 You don't have to get a " kippah " [cap]
  • 04:25 you don't have to wear a " tallit " [prayer shawl]
  • 04:27 These are all things that we can know about, we can respect
  • 04:32 we can even maybe in privacy observe.
  • 04:35 If you want to go into your prayer closet and pray under your tallit it's amazing.
  • 04:39 But you don't have to do that to be closer to God.
  • 04:42 He broke down that middle wall of partition.
  • 04:44 He took in himself the enmity between the two of us
  • 04:48 and he brought us together and we are one.
  • 04:50 Yes, that's great, that's well said.
  • 04:52 Ephesians 2:14 and following that says...
  • 04:59 But one new humanity, Jew and Gentile together.
  • 05:02 There is no caste system in Christianity, thank God.
  • 05:06 In the life of faith there's no caste system.
  • 05:09 There is a priority that the Gospel is to the Jew first and also to the nations.
  • 05:15 And there is an election.
  • 05:17 God has never rescinded the election on the Jewish people.
  • 05:20 But the fact still remains that we are one in the Spirit.
  • 05:24 And that's the point.
  • 05:25 It's not about the importance of my Jewish blood or Katharine's Gentile blood.
  • 05:29 The most important issue is the blood of the sacrifice of Yeshua HaMashiach.
  • 05:36 And I really appreciate Cindy's heart.
  • 05:39 And there's so many people out there that have that heart.
  • 05:42 Please pray for Israel.
  • 05:45 Please give to works that stand with Israel and that share the Good News with Jewish people.
  • 05:52 I mean there's a lot of organizations that just stand with the nation of Israel
  • 05:56 but they don't preach the Good News.
  • 05:59 And this ministry preaches the Good News to the Jew.
  • 06:03 I love that we get to share the Good News whenever we go to Israel.
  • 06:07 And we shared it in a contextual way Myles.
  • 06:10 We don't tell them they have to let go of...or be an offense.
  • 06:15 But let the Gospel be the offense, right?
  • 06:17 We don't want to be the stumbling block.
  • 06:20 But we do have to put that light out there
  • 06:23 because you said the worst thing that you could do to a Jewish person
  • 06:28 is not tell them the Good News.
  • 06:30 Yeah, if someone...you had not told me that
  • 06:33 Jesus was the Messiah of the Jews
  • 06:35 I don't know where I would be today.
  • 06:36 So if you love your Jewish friends
  • 06:38 let them know about your walk of faith.
  • 06:40 It's very important.
  • 06:42 So, we have another letter here regarding replacement theology
  • 06:45 which is always a topic of discussion around here.
  • 07:01 Now, this is a deep, deep heartbeat for us.
  • 07:05 In fact, I wrote a booklet called "An Epic Love Story".
  • 07:09 The fact of Romans 9 through 11 speaking to the reality
  • 07:14 that there in fact has not been a replacement
  • 07:17 but quite the opposite, that God is faithful to his covenants.
  • 07:22 If he has not been faithful to the covenant with the Jewish people
  • 07:25 what is the guarantee that he'll be faithful to a covenant with Christians?
  • 07:30 The reality is that God is a covenant keeping God.
  • 07:33 Romans 9 through 11 may be the most premier example of that.
  • 07:38 Which has been thought historically to be a
  • 07:40 parenthetical part of the Roman letter.
  • 07:43 But in fact,it's a pivotal part of the Roman letter
  • 07:46 because it speaks to this very issue
  • 07:48 that God has got a "both", "and".
  • 07:50 He is able to keep to his promises to Israel "and"
  • 07:54 graft in the Gentile people into the commonwealth of Israel as Paul says.
  • 07:59 Right, yeah, it's really clear in Romans 9 through 11
  • 08:02 that He has not totally rejected them.
  • 08:06 They rejected the Messiah therefore he opened the door to the Gentiles.
  • 08:11 And that was his original heart that all, the whole world...
  • 08:15 The 70 bulls; the offerings
  • 08:17 were all for the whole world to be saved.
  • 08:20 And so if their rejection be salvation to the world
  • 08:25 what will their acceptance be
  • 08:27 but life from the dead?
  • 08:30 We are praying for life from the dead.
  • 08:32 And it is happening now more than ever.
  • 08:35 And we're so excited to be partnering with ministries in Israel
  • 08:38 and partnering with you to see that resurrection life.
  • 08:41 Yeah, that's really so.
  • 08:43 And we continue to let you know through our programs,
  • 08:46 through our series, "The Sons of Promise".
  • 08:49 We tell you that the blessing of God is still coming
  • 08:52 through the Jewish people even today.
  • 08:55 Not only did the Jewish people give the world the Bible,
  • 08:58 the Patriarchs, the Prophets and Messiah.
  • 09:01 But also this amazing blessing of science, technology, break through on every hand
  • 09:05 has come through the Jewish people and continues to.
  • 09:08 In fact, we had a chance to visit an example of this
  • 09:12 when we went to the Dead Sea and we saw a manufacturing example,
  • 09:17 a small example let's say, of life from the dead
  • 09:21 as the products that are made from the Dead Sea themselves
  • 09:24 are being spread around the world to produce health and healing everywhere.
  • 09:29 Let's go to that interview right now in the Dead Sea.
  • 09:34 Idit, thank you so much for having us here in your factory down at the Dead Sea.
  • 09:38 I love the Ahava products.
  • 09:41 And we were just discussing a little bit about the history.
  • 09:43 Tell me about the history of Ahava and how it came about.
  • 09:47 With pleasure.
  • 09:48 And let me say that it's
  • 09:50 our pleasure to host you here.
  • 09:52 Well, Ahava has a very unique story.
  • 09:56 I think that our brand story is unique, it's very human, it's very real and authentic.
  • 10:02 It's a young company only established 26 years ago
  • 10:05 by people that came to work and to live here
  • 10:10 from really pure love to the region.
  • 10:12 Wow.
  • 10:13 They established 3 types of kibbutz's
  • 10:16 which are all on the Dead Sea shore.
  • 10:19 Actually, the factory just above us is one of the kibbutz's which is called " Mitzpe Shalem ".
  • 10:24 And they came to live here and to build up their home here.
  • 10:29 And that's how they started to look around and see what they can do
  • 10:34 And how they could still live here
  • 10:37 in this not very easy environment.
  • 10:40 As you can see, a desert area.
  • 10:42 Very salty waters.
  • 10:44 Most of the kibbutz's in Israel are based on our great culture.
  • 10:47 This is not a typical type cast of a kibbutz.
  • 10:51 And they got inspired from the many, many, many tourists
  • 10:54 that come here every year to see this phenomenon,
  • 10:59 the lowest place on earth with it's unique water
  • 11:03 which is all associated to skin and to relieve skin disorders.
  • 11:08 And that's how they came up with a mineral skin care brand.
  • 11:13 And you were telling me that all four elements that are here you know, the air, the water...
  • 11:19 And that's really what birthed this product;
  • 11:23 that God caused the desert to bloom.
  • 11:25 And then he gives a little help with our faces to bloom too!
  • 11:28 Yes, definitely!
  • 11:31 I think that this area has the best of four elements.
  • 11:34 And this is something that we really are trying to pass to our consumer's worldwide.
  • 11:40 If you look at our body care you will see those four elements,
  • 11:44 the unique mud which there is no other place to have this rich,
  • 11:50 mineral mud that is proven to have a very, very good affect on skin.
  • 11:56 The water is of course very unique.
  • 11:58 The Dead Sea minerals are always connected with things that are beneficial to the skin.
  • 12:04 A high concentration of minerals and water that feels like almost oil on skin.
  • 12:11 It's not your typical sea.
  • 12:13 It's something...
  • 12:14 It's one of the wonders of the world
  • 12:15 Definitely!
  • 12:16 ...when you come in to bath in the Dead Sea.
  • 12:19 Yeah, it's buoyant!
  • 12:21 You can't swim in it!
  • 12:22 You float...you bob!
  • 12:23 We say it's the world's largest spa
  • 12:26 because you go into the water like you enter a spa.
  • 12:29 You don't just splash in, you know, go in running
  • 12:34 because you go with respect, with caution
  • 12:36 because it's like a spa.
  • 12:39 And then the water is so concentrated with minerals you literally just float.
  • 12:43 And it's very unique.
  • 12:46 It's a very... it's an amazing experience.
  • 12:49 And the air of course is full of oxygen.
  • 12:52 You don't see here a hectic, urban life.
  • 12:55 So you kind of go into the mood of relaxation here.
  • 12:58 So a lot of people come here to really relax and kind of take down their stress.

  • 15:17 Every program ends with our injunction to you to pray.
  • 15:21 It says this,
  • 15:36 I will paraphrase.
  • 15:37 All of which are words about judgment coming upon Judah
  • 15:40 and an admonition against praying for Israel.
  • 15:43 Well the first answer to that is that those were contemporary
  • 15:48 answers through the prophet for a season of wickedness in Israel
  • 15:53 that was being expressly judged at that time.
  • 15:57 They are not predictive prophecy about the end of the age.
  • 16:01 This exhortation that we bring to you from Psalm 122, verse 6 is forever.
  • 16:06 And the reason is that it not only point to the hope for a physical peace
  • 16:11 but really points to the person of peace,
  • 16:14 Sar Shalom , the Prince of Peace,
  • 16:16 Yeshua.
  • 16:17 And actually it's a call to you to agree with God's scripture.

  • 22:43 on the son as he's becoming a son of the law.
  • 22:47 And they're throwing the candy because it goes back to
  • 22:50 that the honey would be sweet.
  • 22:53 And that whenever they would study the Word that it would be a sweet experience.
  • 22:57 And actually they would put honey on the children's tongue as they were reading the Torah.
  • 23:01 So it was a long practice of training.
  • 23:04 They can read when they're three.
  • 23:06 Yes, there's a very strong emphasis on education;
  • 23:08 on reading, writing; especially Sacred Scripture.
  • 23:12 I remember going up to Shiloh early on in our tours,
  • 23:15 before we were even with Zola,
  • 23:17 coming up to Shiloh and seeing in this beautiful community
  • 23:20 that is so-called settlers in the so-called west bank.
  • 23:24 Which is actually a gorgeous community of Bible believing Jewish people
  • 23:30 who are waiting for Messiah
  • 23:32 and are living a life of peace and strength in the heartland of Israel.
  • 23:37 Not the west bank of anything, but the heartland of Israel.
  • 23:40 At Shiloh and going into their Yeshiva and seeing
  • 23:43 these little kids, little boys studying the Torah
  • 23:46 by singing the words out and just getting it inside of them
  • 23:50 when they were three... four..five years old.
  • 23:52 It's a marvel to behold.
  • 23:54 And that's very typical of Jewish families.
  • 23:56 It took place in the Temple.
  • 23:59 It took place in Yeshivas , in Hebrew Schools, at Synagogues,
  • 24:03 very much so in the home.
  • 24:05 And that's why it is so important that we raise
  • 24:08 our children in the nurture and the admonition of the LORD.
  • 24:11 Absolutely, and you see here today they're trying to de-legitimize the home schoolers
  • 24:18 and take us away from parents that would have the involvement
  • 24:23 and put us more and more work driven
  • 24:26 and not driven by the Scriptures
  • 24:29 or dedicated, is a better word, to the Scriptures
  • 24:31 and to raising our children with a taste for that Word that's eternal.
  • 24:37 Obviously it was put in Yeshua .
  • 24:40 But that was a supernatural moment in time
  • 24:44 where he went and fulfilled that Scripture.
  • 24:46 And they were going to make pilgrimage as a family
  • 24:49 so they were in town and they were all there.
  • 24:52 And the Holy Spirit moved on him
  • 24:54 and the time was for him to begin his beginning of his ministry.
  • 24:59 You know, the ministry begins at 30 years old.
  • 25:03 There's something unique about seeing this 12 year old..13 year old.
  • 25:07 Some people tie it to perhaps his bar mitzvah.
  • 25:09 That's not in the scripture.
  • 25:11 But it is that time of coming in to manhood.
  • 25:14 There are some changes that are taking place.
  • 25:16 But for Jesus himself it was again speaking
  • 25:20 of the authority with which he was walking.
  • 25:23 You know, the value of the word
  • 25:24 I think about in our own children's lives.
  • 25:26 How we're seeing the Word that was put in them when they were little,
  • 25:30 how that begins to come alive in young adulthood
  • 25:33 no matter how circuitous their path may be
  • 25:35 there comes a moment in time when that which was put in them
  • 25:38 comes back and the Word of God does not return void.
  • 25:42 That's God's promise to us.
  • 25:44 So I think about how long we waited to do this series on Joseph
  • 25:49 and how Joseph... we see the good the bad and the ugly of home life.
  • 25:53 We see jealousy, favoritism,
  • 25:55 all of the difficulties that any family would have.
  • 25:59 But in the midst of that we see the sovereignty of God
  • 26:02 as he calls this boy into an amazing life of becoming a type of who Yeshua is.
  • 26:10 The story of Joseph is wonderful for our day
  • 26:14 because it really points to the Jewishness of Jesus
  • 26:17 and the fact that he's returning soon to a Jewish Jerusalem.
  • 26:22 So look up.
