Caption transcript for “2014 — The Year in Review”

  • 00:18 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved
  • 00:25 for there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek
  • 00:28 for the same LORD over all is rich unto all that call upon Him
  • 00:44 Shalom and welcome to our program.
  • 00:45 We are here in Israel
  • 00:47 and we want to take a look back at 2014.
  • 00:49 It's such a joy to be with you here in the Holy Land.
  • 00:53 It's been the heart of Zola Levitt Presents from the beginning
  • 00:56 to bring you a glimpse of what's happening here in the Land.
  • 01:00 This series that we are going to show you is called "Journey of Restoration"
  • 01:04 And Israel is a picture of restoration.
  • 01:06 Really it's a picture of God's prophetic time clock
  • 01:09 and points to the return of the LORD.
  • 01:12 We thought, some people can't come to Israel, let's bring Israel to them.
  • 01:15 And so here we go.
  • 01:17 Let's take a look at the "Journey of Restoration"
  • 01:22 I love Israel... I love the people.
  • 01:24 Totally so... it's un describable.
  • 01:27 And it feels like home.. It just feels like home.
  • 01:30 "Welcome to Jerusalem"... it just took my breath away.
  • 01:34 It just shows the finger print of God everywhere.
  • 01:36 To realize how special this city and the people were to the LORD
  • 01:41 It's God's chosen Land and Jesus walked on it.
  • 01:45 I think there's a restoration as pastor Myles talked about.
  • 01:48 How God is really gathering the Jews in.
  • 01:54 Through the blood of Jesus Christ we've been grafted-in and now this is our city also.
  • 02:08 (Myles speaking)
  • 02:09 We start our day with a visit to Kibbutz Ginosar just north of the Sea of Galilee.
  • 02:15 It's here that an ancient wooden boat is on display referred to as "The Jesus Boat".
  • 02:19 It was pulled from the sea in 1986 and has been positively dated to the first century.
  • 02:25 The boat is the type that Jesus would have used in His ministry while in the Galilee area.
  • 02:30 A short walk along the shore takes us to another boat.
  • 02:34 This one is similar in feeling to The Jesus Boat
  • 02:37 but much larger and comfortably equipped to accommodate our tour group
  • 02:40 for praise and worship on the Sea of Galilee.
  • 02:47 And then if we fast forward in John 21 when Peter is being restored
  • 02:51 and when that whole passage is coming to pass
  • 02:54 where this wonderful beach walk happens at Tabgha
  • 02:57 and all of the wonderful things Jesus did after resurrection and ascension
  • 03:03 there was that moment where He said to them...
  • 03:06 they had been fishing all night long...
  • 03:08 "Cast your nets to the other side".
  • 03:11 And when they did they brought up 153 fish.
  • 03:16 Why?
  • 03:18 Why 153 fish?
  • 03:20 Because every Hebrew letter has a numerical value.
  • 03:23 every Hebrew number has a letter value
  • 03:26 and 153 says "Ani Elohim", "I am God".
  • 03:32 Israel is definitely a contrast you know?
  • 03:34 We have Tiberius and green plush lands
  • 03:36 and Qumran it turns to instant desert.
  • 03:39 And yet right outside of Qumran they have huge date tree palms that they're growing.
  • 03:45 And so you know it speaks of just the power of God.
  • 03:49 (Katharine speaking)
  • 03:51 I'm so blessed every time I visit Israel.
  • 03:54 After 20 trips I still manage to find things I've never done before.
  • 03:59 I had never ridden a camel before.
  • 04:01 Can you tell?
  • 04:02 After the group had some time to behold the magnificent Temple Mount and the City of Gold
  • 04:08 we walked down the road which led to the site
  • 04:10 where according to tradition Jesus wept over Jerusalem.
  • 04:16 So we all went half way down.
  • 04:19 So we are still on the mountain.
  • 04:21 We are still on the Mount of Olives.
  • 04:23 And soon we'll continue to follow the road
  • 04:26 all the way down to the valley and to the Garden of Gethsemane.
  • 04:31 Now the olive tree itself is an incredible story.
  • 04:35 You saw the ancient ones across the way there.
  • 04:38 You see that when they grow older they get kind of hollow on the inside.
  • 04:42 And the shoots come up from below and wrap themselves around and support the tree.
  • 04:49 The olive tree is a picture of Israel .
  • 04:52 The shoots they're called "notzrim" in the plural.
  • 04:55 It's where we get the word "netzer."
  • 04:57 It means "the shoot","netzer", "Nazareth", "Nazarene".
  • 05:01 You are the "notzrim".
  • 05:05 Hebrew life speaks of God in a compound unity, "echad".
  • 05:11 We know it as "three in one".
  • 05:13 We know that God is three in one.
  • 05:14 So today when you go into the water
  • 05:17 I want you to hold in your hearts whatever prayer you have before God
  • 05:22 about where you are in your life
  • 05:23 whatever your hopes are for the future,
  • 05:25 for your family, for your children, grandchildren,
  • 05:28 for whoever is in your life,
  • 05:30 for you personally.
  • 05:32 I believe that when you come out of the water today
  • 05:35 in your heart I want you to be able to hear the Father say
  • 05:38 this is my beloved son,
  • 05:41 this is my beloved daughter
  • 05:43 in whom I am well pleased.
  • 05:45 Amen?
  • 05:50 You know it's a joy to bring to you
  • 05:52 the tour that we took called
  • 05:54 "Journey of Restoration".
  • 05:55 We wanted to bring Israel to you
  • 05:57 And not only did our viewers love it
  • 06:00 but our tour was so full
  • 06:02 and people were saying they were
  • 06:04 going to come back again next time.
  • 06:06 Yeah, there's been a great response
  • 06:08 to the "Journey of Restoration".
  • 06:10 And we understand why
  • 06:11 because Israel is a picture of restoration
  • 06:14 and how God restores a land, a people
  • 06:16 and personally wants to restore each of us.
  • 06:19 You know one of the unique features of our program
  • 06:21 has been Biblical re-enactments.
  • 06:23 We make the Bible come alive in Hebrew with English subtitles.
  • 06:27 We use Israeli actors on location.
  • 06:29 And we thought we'd like to
  • 06:31 go back to the beginning of the story of faith.
  • 06:33 Yeah, the beginning of our faith
  • 06:35 the call of God from Abraham.
  • 06:37 You know God called Abraham out of Ur of the Chaldeans.
  • 06:40 And he was called the first Hebrew because He crossed over.
  • 06:44 That's right and so we made the story
  • 06:46 "Abraham, the Father of Faith"
  • 06:48 Let's take a look at that.
  • 08:23 The role of intercession is very, very powerful.
  • 08:26 It's very important.
  • 08:28 It really is for every single believer in the New Testament era.
  • 08:31 We really need to understand that we can affect the way the world unfolds.
  • 08:36 We can affect the history and the destiny of people through our prayer.
  • 08:42 It's God's gift to us; intercession.
  • 08:45 It's really a power that's given to us by God.
  • 08:48 It's a way that He esteems our opinion.
  • 08:51 He includes us in the process of what He does.
  • 08:55 And we learn from intercession,
  • 08:57 from prayer, that He actually hears us.
  • 08:59 And that's what we see with Abraham.
  • 09:01 Abraham actually begins to bargain with God about the future of Sodom and Gomorrah.
  • 09:06 "If there are 50 righteous will you spare them?"
  • 09:08 And he works his way down to 10.
  • 09:10 "If there are 10 righteous would you spare them?"
  • 09:52 Jesus and Isaac both carried the wood for the sacrifice
  • 09:56 up Mount Moriah.
  • 09:59 Isaac carried the wood for the sacrifice you remember when Abraham took him out.
  • 10:04 And Yeshua Jesus carried at least the crossbeam;
  • 10:08 carried the wood for the crucifixion for the sacrifice up to the place of sacrifice
  • 10:15 Both paralleling perfectly in the scripture.
  • 10:19 Isaac went willingly
  • 10:21 and we see that portrayed in scripture.
  • 10:23 And we know that the Son of Man laid down His life for the sins of the world.
  • 10:36 Hello, I'm Wayne Fornier

  • 11:10 allow us to come here and bring you these messages.
  • 11:14 And not only that but allow us
  • 11:16 the opportunity to talk with so many people about prophecy.
  • 11:21 Yeah, and it's really true that the scripture tell us that
  • 11:23 you bless Israel you will be blessed.
  • 11:25 And we know that these programs are a blessing to Israel.
  • 11:28 And we're so grateful to you for standing with us.
  • 11:31 Prophecy is so important.
  • 11:33 Right now we're in the time
  • 11:35 when we're looking at the return of the LORD.
  • 11:38 It's coming soon.
  • 11:39 II Peter 1:19 tells us
  • 11:41 we have a more sure Word of prophesy.
  • 11:43 So this past year we heard from some prophetic voices.
  • 11:46 Let's take a look at that right now.
  • 11:49 This know also
  • 11:52 that in the last days
  • 11:53 perilous times shall come.
  • 11:56 evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse
  • 12:01 deceiving and being deceived.
  • 12:04 But continue in the Holy Scriptures
  • 12:06 which are able to make thee wise unto salvation
  • 12:10 through faith in Christ Jesus.
  • 12:27 The time clock is Jerusalem.
  • 12:29 That's God's time clock
  • 12:31 and the nations of the world
  • 12:32 are still obsessed with the
  • 12:34 dividing of the land of Israel.
  • 12:36 Let's put it this way,
  • 12:38 the nations of the world,
  • 12:40 the leadership of the world
  • 12:42 wants to make Judea and Samaria
  • 12:46 an Arab state.
  • 12:48 The issue is not Israel.
  • 12:49 And I think American's should
  • 12:51 wake up to reality.
  • 12:53 The reality is
  • 12:56 that Iran develops the capability
  • 12:58 in order to advance their mega historical goal
  • 13:01 domination of the Gulf
  • 13:02 and the Sunni Muslim world.
  • 13:04 In order to attain that goal
  • 13:06 they have to remove what they perceive to be the mega obstacle
  • 13:09 which is nothing to do with Israel.
  • 13:11 It's U.S. military power projection.
  • 13:13 Everybody today is worried about Israel
  • 13:16 for a lot of reasons
  • 13:17 but we don't worry about Israel
  • 13:19 cause that's God' problem.
  • 13:20 He that keepeth Israel
  • 13:21 will neither slumber or sleep.
  • 13:23 We pray for Israel because we're instructed to.
  • 13:24 I tremble...for America.
  • 13:27 The America that we used to stand for freedom and liberty
  • 13:30 is a thing of the past.
  • 13:32 I might say the myth of the past.
  • 13:34 Yeah people will say
  • 13:35 America is Babylon the Great
  • 13:36 or America is the unnamed nation in Isaiah 18
  • 13:39 or the young lions of Tarshish
  • 13:41 or these different places.
  • 13:42 And I look at all of those
  • 13:43 and I find America missing
  • 13:45 which some would say well America is missing
  • 13:47 just because a lot of other countries are.
  • 13:48 But I think us being the greatest power that has existed on earth
  • 13:51 the fact that we're not mentioned is significant.
  • 13:54 I think it means something has happened to America
  • 13:57 and power has shifted to Europe, to the Far East and to the Middle East.
  • 14:02 And I look at some of the different scenarios of how that could take place.
  • 14:05 In this country what we see happening
  • 14:08 we're trying to divide the land of Israel.
  • 14:10 We're going against God.
  • 14:12 God says I'll cut you into pieces.
  • 14:14 You cut Israel up I'll cut you up.
  • 14:16 We see our taxes,
  • 14:18 the amount going in is falling,
  • 14:20 people are out of work,
  • 14:21 unemployment is rising.
  • 14:23 Our tax collections are going to be down
  • 14:24 I think 18 percent this year.
  • 14:26 We see deficits, over a trillion dollar deficits.
  • 14:29 You can't keep taking in less money and spending more money
  • 14:31 and survive.
  • 14:33 The dollar's declining
  • 14:34 people seeing gold going up
  • 14:36 silver going up.
  • 14:37 They're going up because the dollar is getting to be worth less.
  • 14:41 So all of this impacts us.
  • 14:43 I think there will be an economic collapse.
  • 14:45 The scripture teaches
  • 14:46 that in the later days
  • 14:47 that Jerusalem will be a cup of trembling.
  • 14:49 In other words it would be
  • 14:51 a burden to the world.
  • 14:53 I really believe that some of the hatred we see toward Israel,
  • 14:57 some of the angst against them is really Biblical.
  • 15:02 The world wants peace.
  • 15:05 They blamed everything on Israel
  • 15:07 saying that if we'd just only stabilize that region.
  • 15:10 You make peace in Israel
  • 15:12 the world would be a better world.
  • 15:13 But they don't understand that
  • 15:14 the only way Israel will experience a lasting peace.
  • 15:17 Is when Messiah sits on that throne.
  • 15:18 There's nothing new in the New Testament.
  • 15:20 The New Testament is praise God for those books
  • 15:23 who are showing us what part of the promises of the covenant
  • 15:26 were already come to pass.
  • 15:28 It says after 2 days
  • 15:30 on the 3rd day I will establish you back in your country.
  • 15:32 And sure enough
  • 15:34 48 was the establishment of the State of Israel.
  • 15:37 So this is the greatest miracle of the 20th century.
  • 15:40 Today the persecution is against the nation of Israel itself.
  • 15:44 To kill this child
  • 15:46 that God has born
  • 15:48 and to not allow her existence.
  • 15:52 Now I don't believe that will every happen
  • 15:54 but we see it particularly manifest present day through Islam.
  • 15:59 70 years ago it was through Nazism.
  • 16:02 And before that it was through Haman and through Herod.
  • 16:06 There's always been persecution to annihilate the Jewish race
  • 16:10 and to remove them from their Land.
  • 16:12 But praise God we're at a time of history
  • 16:15 where God says never again.
  • 16:19 God is a God of generations.
  • 16:20 You know we see God brought Abraham out of the Land of Ur.
  • 16:24 And then we have Isaac and Jacob.
  • 16:26 And from these amazing people we have the 12 tribes
  • 16:30 which are Israel.
  • 16:32 So it was our joy to bring to you
  • 16:34 "The Sons of Promise"
  • 16:35 Yeah, you know the Bible says that it's "dor v'dor",
  • 16:38 "generation to generation"
  • 16:40 And what we wanted to do
  • 16:41 was not just bring you the story of Isaac and Jacob
  • 16:44 but also show modern Israel,
  • 16:46 the blessing that has continued to come through the line
  • 16:49 of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
  • 16:51 with the modern technology,
  • 16:52 the medical blessings,
  • 16:53 and all of the wonderful things that are happening here.
  • 16:55 So let's take a look now
  • 16:57 at "Sons of Promise"
  • 17:14 And the LORD appeared unto Isaac and said,
  • 17:17 Dwell in this Land and I will be with you and bless you.
  • 17:23 For to you and your descendents I give all these lands.
  • 17:28 And will perform the oath which I swore to your father Abraham
  • 17:32 and I will make your descendents multiply as the stars of heaven
  • 17:37 and in your seed all the nations of the earth
  • 17:41 shall be blessed.
  • 18:24 It's just incredible that not far from here
  • 18:27 Isaac was increased a hundred fold.
  • 18:30 And now we see centuries later
  • 18:32 the increase has come through
  • 18:34 the line of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to the entire world
  • 18:38 as this city built on a sandbar over a hundred years ago
  • 18:42 is now this vibrant, thriving city that's exporting blessing
  • 18:47 all around the world.
  • 18:48 Yes, seeing the life of Abraham.
  • 18:50 Abraham was a man of altars
  • 18:52 And Isaac was a man of wells.
  • 18:54 And we're going to see how Jacob is a man of tents.
  • 18:57 A peaceful man that God extends His covenant plan
  • 19:02 and the nation of Israel is birthed through the line of Jacob.
  • 19:05 Yes and that's important
  • 19:07 because there's such controversy today in the world
  • 19:09 about this little country smaller than New Jersey
  • 19:12 and yet a covenant land.
  • 19:14 So in this series we're going to look at God's fulfillment
  • 19:17 of His covenant promises.
  • 19:19 And that's exactly what happened May 14th 1948.
  • 19:22 This nation was born.
  • 19:24 And God intends to keep it here as a witness of who He is
  • 19:28 until the coming of Messiah.
  • 19:32 Well I think that what makes us unique is our vision.
  • 19:35 And that is we have a vision of changing the attitudes
  • 19:37 of Christians and Jews toward one another.
  • 19:39 In fact, the fact that we're based in Jerusalem
  • 19:42 is also very, very special.
  • 19:44 You know a lot of ministries are based in their own country
  • 19:47 wherever that might be in the world.
  • 19:48 And they're telling what God believes about Israel and so on.
  • 19:52 But we're actually here with 70 people on the ground
  • 19:55 who are showing God's love to the Jewish people.
  • 19:58 And most Jewish people; most Israeli's have a huge memory of the holocaust
  • 20:03 and to our great sadness they believe that Christians caused
  • 20:07 most of their pain throughout the centuries.
  • 20:09 So we're here as Christians on the ground
  • 20:12 from all over the world.
  • 20:14 We have Christians from 15 different countries on our staff
  • 20:16 And we're here to show that we love them.
  • 20:19 As Christians we love the Jewish people
  • 20:20 but we believe God has a plan and a purpose for their lives
  • 20:23 that we believe God is bringing them back from the nations
  • 20:25 and that we will do everything we can
  • 20:27 to cooperate with God's plans.
  • 20:29 And Jacob dreamed there was a ladder
  • 20:32 that reached up into heaven
  • 20:36 He saw angels of God ascending and descending.
  • 20:40 And the LORD said,
  • 20:42 I Am the LORD the God of your grandfather Abraham.
  • 20:46 I Am the God of Isaac.
  • 20:48 I will give you the land that you are lying upon.
