Episode: “Green to the Extreme”
Extreme elements in the environmental movement want to move away from Judeo-Christian teachings and toward animal rights, glorifying nature as “Mother Earth.” This type of idolatry (also seen in many Bible stories) formed part of Hitler’s Nazi party philosophy. Elevating the environment by and for the elite tends to diminish the value of human life. As Believers, we don’t worship creation but rather the Creator. This extremism is a sign that points to our Messiah’s eminent return. We hear from Mark Musser.
Series: “Times of the Signs (2017)”
In this eight-program TV series, Myles and Katharine Weiss encourage Believers to look beyond the troubling prophetic signs of our day and live in growing expectation of our Messiah’s return.

Caption transcript for Times of the Signs (2017): “Green to the Extreme” (3/8)

  • 00:04 Welcome to "Times of the Signs" here on Zola Levitt Presents.
  • 00:08 I'm Kirsten Hart.
  • 00:09 And I am David Hart.
  • 00:11 The theme today is
  • 00:12 "Green to the Extreme".
  • 00:14 Ancient Pagan worship,
  • 00:16 the Nazi movement,
  • 00:17 and radical environmentalism.
  • 00:19 What do these 3 have in common?
  • 01:20 Shalom and welcome to our program, I'm Myles Weiss.
  • 01:23 And I'm Katharine Weiss.
  • 01:24 And we want to welcome you to our new series "Times of the Signs".
  • 01:27 We are seeing God fulfilling His Word in rapid pace right now.
  • 01:33 It's not just one or two.
  • 01:35 I mean they're just coming at us.
  • 01:36 Yes, that's true, we're getting close to the coming of the LORD.
  • 01:39 And so we have a very controversial program today.
  • 01:42 We want to talk about the power of the extreme environmentalist movement
  • 01:46 and how it is diminishing the role of mankind
  • 01:49 and uplifting the role of creation
  • 01:51 and how that has connections, historical connections
  • 01:54 to some of the most devastating movements in the history of the planet.
  • 01:57 You know, God has created His earth for us to enjoy,
  • 02:01 for us to be a good steward over.
  • 02:03 for us to take responsibility for
  • 02:05 that we don't pollute or destroy it
  • 02:09 but we are not to worship it.
  • 02:10 And that is the error that is this green fascism
  • 02:14 has caused us to see even the same as Baal.
  • 02:18 The ancient connection between pagan worship, the worship of "mother earth", "Gaia"
  • 02:23 and the displacing of God's order of things.
  • 02:26 Remember, Genesis 1:26 (Speaking Hebrew)
  • 02:36 God created man in God's image.
  • 02:39 Now let's go to hear Myles in the Hinnom Valley unfold the Scriptures on these.
  • 02:50 We're trying to bring to you
  • 02:52 some of the major events
  • 02:54 that are happening in the end times
  • 02:55 and how they relate together
  • 02:57 to set up for the return of Yeshua ,
  • 03:00 for the coming of Messiah.
  • 03:01 And one of the most interesting, fascinating parts of this story
  • 03:06 is the global movement towards an environmentalism,
  • 03:10 a green environmentalism.
  • 03:12 I would say, an extreme green environmentalism.
  • 03:15 So you might ask, Why are you here at the Hinnom Valley?
  • 03:18 Well this is the Hinnom Valley.
  • 03:20 It's one of the 3 Valleys
  • 03:22 that comprise the center of Jerusalem.
  • 03:24 The 3 Valleys taken together,
  • 03:26 The Kidron
  • 03:27 The Tyropoeon
  • 03:28 and the Hinnom Valley
  • 03:29 make the shape of the letter "Shin", "El Shaddai"
  • 03:32 Another evidence that God, the Almighty God
  • 03:35 has set His Name here in Jerusalem.
  • 03:38 This is His place.
  • 03:40 The Hinnom Valley has a very storied
  • 03:42 and very difficult history.
  • 03:44 We first see it appear in the book of Joshua.
  • 03:47 Just historically speaking
  • 03:49 about the territory
  • 03:50 that this valley makes up.
  • 03:52 But then we learn over time
  • 03:53 that this is the valley that God warns us about
  • 03:57 through the prophet Jeremiah.
  • 03:58 It's where the prophets of Baal worshipped.
  • 04:01 It's where Baal worship took place.
  • 04:03 In fact, children were sacrificed
  • 04:06 to the god Molech in this valley.
  • 04:09 It became known as the Valley of Burning,
  • 04:11 the Valley of Slaughter.
  • 04:13 And its incredible depth of difficulty
  • 04:17 that we see here.
  • 04:19 In fact, in Genesis 1
  • 04:21 God tells us to be stewards of His earth.
  • 04:24 But He never tells us to worship the earth.
  • 04:28 We see that parallel in Romans Chapter 1.
  • 04:30 We're warned that we are to worship the Creator
  • 04:33 and not the creation.
  • 04:35 And yet, this type of worship
  • 04:37 is the setting up of graven images
  • 04:39 is a reaching for something that doesn't belong
  • 04:41 which is worship of the creation
  • 04:43 or the imagination
  • 04:45 instead of the one, true God.
  • 04:48 The Valley of Hinnom takes on an even deeper meaning
  • 04:52 in the New Testament, the B'rit Hadashah .
  • 04:55 In Acts Chapter 1
  • 04:57 it's spoken of as the field of blood,
  • 04:59 the place where Judas went to hang himself
  • 05:03 after he betrayed Yeshua .
  • 05:06 Now, hanging in those days
  • 05:07 was not with a rope as we are familiar with in the west.
  • 05:10 But it would be with an impaling
  • 05:12 with the entire insides of a person being spilled out.
  • 05:15 And that's why this was called the field of blood.
  • 05:19 So this valley
  • 05:20 has both a tremendously negative and difficult history
  • 05:24 but also points to something very important.
  • 05:27 As every one of these programs is showing,
  • 05:30 we are called to worship the Creator and not the creation.
  • 05:34 Amazingly, the modern extreme green movement,
  • 05:39 the extreme environmentalist movement
  • 05:41 has a very strong parallel with the arising of the Nazi movement.
  • 05:46 I know that may seem strange to you
  • 05:47 but let me explain this.
  • 05:49 In order for Hitler to come to power
  • 05:53 he had to see a weakened Christianity
  • 05:56 which came through the higher criticism
  • 05:58 and the elevation of the romantic philosophers of Germany.
  • 06:03 Famous names...
  • 06:04 Goethe...Schopenhauer... Nietzsche
  • 06:06 were all used by the Nazi Party
  • 06:09 to diminish the importance of Christianity.
  • 06:12 Because Christianity was tied to Judaism.
  • 06:14 And therefore it was weak in the eyes of the arising Nazi Party.
  • 06:19 The connection with environmentalism which is amazing,
  • 06:22 is that there had to be a vacuum
  • 06:25 in to which this party could arise.
  • 06:27 That vacuum was created by the devastation of World War I,
  • 06:31 by a weak Christianity,
  • 06:33 and by an elevation of the thoughts and mind of man
  • 06:38 over the thoughts and mind of God.
  • 06:40 And that's why Hitler was so strongly against
  • 06:43 the Bible, against Christians,
  • 06:45 and of course, against Judaism.
  • 06:47 In order for him to accomplish what he wanted to
  • 06:50 there had to be an elevation
  • 06:52 of the importance of the environment,
  • 06:54 the importance of the natural life
  • 06:56 and the elevation, almost to the point of reverence, of the natural world
  • 07:01 that was only fit for an elevated master race to participate in.
  • 07:07 Therefore, he had to diminish the population by weeding out
  • 07:12 those that were weaker,
  • 07:13 those that were tied to the weakness of Judaism and Christianity
  • 07:16 in order for him to take over.
  • 07:18 And there was an incredible connection
  • 07:20 with extreme environmentalism.
  • 07:29 Hi, my name is Belinda Moon
  • 07:31 and I am a 2nd generation contributor to Zola Levitt Ministries.
  • 07:35 My parents supported the ministry
  • 07:37 and I found it when Myles and Katharine came on board.
  • 07:40 Through their teaching I have learned a lot
  • 07:42 about the Bible and why its important for me to stand with Israel.
  • 07:46 Please join me in supporting this ministry.
  • 07:56 We are descending into
  • 07:58 the Valley of Hinnom.
  • 08:00 This nefarious Valley
  • 08:01 where not only was there a movement away from
  • 08:04 the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
  • 08:06 but actually a place where children were slaughtered.
  • 08:09 What does this have to do with the environmental movement?
  • 08:12 The green movement that is arising in the world?
  • 08:14 And what possible connection could it have with the Nazi mentality?
  • 08:17 Well, the fact is that it's similar in that
  • 08:21 the extreme green movement believes that there is
  • 08:24 a elite, a small group of leadership
  • 08:28 that should make decisions from central control
  • 08:31 over the rest of the populous.
  • 08:32 And it has to do with the elevating of a certain group
  • 08:35 and the diminishing of the value of human life for everyone else.
  • 08:39 Think about this...
  • 08:41 When Hitler was on the rise
  • 08:42 one of his first concepts was "Lebensraum"
  • 08:45 which meant "living room".
  • 08:46 That was the justification for attacking Poland, Czechoslovakia
  • 08:49 and expanding the reach of the German people
  • 08:53 because they were superior.
  • 08:55 And they needed fewer competitors and more space
  • 08:58 to enjoy the mountains and the high places of the earth.
  • 09:01 One of their key phrases was "Blood and Soil",
  • 09:04 the blood of the German people
  • 09:06 and the soil of German, the growing German empire.
  • 09:11 But it required a reduced population.
  • 09:14 And we hear that a lot in the modern movement don't we?
  • 09:17 We hear a lot about population control
  • 09:19 and reducing the population
  • 09:21 so that there's more to go around
  • 09:23 for these elite few who remain.
  • 09:26 In a twist that only the mind of the enemy could make up,
  • 09:31 every death camp had an oak tree planted in front of it
  • 09:36 as a reminder of the importance of the green movement,
  • 09:39 the importance of the environment movement.
  • 09:41 In fact, it was so strong that in order to demonize the Jewish people
  • 09:47 Hitler had laws enacted that elevated the importance of animals
  • 09:53 and came against the ritual kosher slaughter of the Jewish people,
  • 09:57 the traditional way the most humane way of slaughtering an animal.
  • 10:01 In fact, Hitler was a nature boy, he was a vegetarian,
  • 10:04 a non-smoker, a non-drinker.
  • 10:07 He just happened to be a vicious murderer
  • 10:11 who could so justify and so compartmentalize in his twisted mind
  • 10:15 that the environment, the green world,
  • 10:19 the mountains of the German people.
  • 10:21 And the few elite people had so much more value
  • 10:24 than what he eventually called the "vermin", the Jewish people.
  • 10:27 But it wasn't only the Jewish people.
  • 10:29 It was Christians and Gypsies
  • 10:32 and people of all kinds
  • 10:34 that did not fit the mold, the picture of this Aryan superior race.
  • 10:40 In order for Hitler to do what he did
  • 10:42 he had to take Judeo Christian thinking out of the minds of people.
  • 10:47 He had to see a weakened Christianity
  • 10:50 and he worked at that.
  • 10:52 In 1935 he put 700 Prussian pastors under house arrest
  • 10:57 because they dared to circulate a pamphlet equating Nazism with Paganism.
  • 11:03 He knew that he had to have a weakened Christian church.
  • 11:06 Heroes like Bonhoeffer and Karl Barth,
  • 11:09 they were very, very rare,
  • 11:11 very exceptional among the Gentile believers,
  • 11:14 the Christians who stood up against the Nazi regime.
  • 11:17 And isn't it amazing that today
  • 11:20 no less than Peter Singer, the bioethics Professor
  • 11:25 has said that we need to do away with Judeo-Christianity
  • 11:28 in order for animal rights to have its way in our world.
  • 11:32 There is a parallel between moving away from the Bible
  • 11:36 opening the door to the vacuum that paganism can come into
  • 11:40 and then elevating mother earth worship,
  • 11:42 Baal worship, paganism, witchcraft of every kind.
  • 11:46 There's a connection between that and what happened in Nazi Germany.
  • 11:51 No less than Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh has said,
  • 12:00 Again, because it's the elites who should have this planet for themselves.
  • 12:05 The racial component is no longer as strong as it was in Nazi Germany.
  • 12:09 But the mentality is still very similar.
  • 12:12 Think about this.
  • 12:14 The precursors of the modern extreme green movement in America,
  • 12:22 They all did that same romantic philosophical
  • 12:25 changeover that happened in Germany
  • 12:27 where they moved away from the Bible
  • 12:29 towards an elevation of the importance of the environment,
  • 12:33 importance of mother earth.
  • 12:35 And those people led to what we have today.
  • 12:38 In fact, Teddy Roosevelt was a conservationist.
  • 12:41 And we believe in conservation.
  • 12:42 We believe in good stewardship.
  • 12:44 But Teddy Roosevelt still had a Judeo-Christian background and paradigm.
  • 12:48 And so he and John Muir really locked horns
  • 12:51 over the dispersion of the land in the west.
  • 12:54 Because Muir was a pagan mentality type of environmentalist
  • 12:59 whereas Roosevelt understood that man was created a little lower than the angels
  • 13:04 and that man was created in the image of God.
  • 13:07 This movement towards extreme legislation, extreme control
  • 13:12 maybe finds its most absurd picture in the
  • 13:16 PETA advertisement of several years ago,
  • 13:20 People for the ethical treatment of animals,
  • 13:22 where they have billboards all over the U.S. with pictures of chicken
  • 13:26 called "Holocaust on your Plate",
  • 13:28 equating the value of the Jewish people
  • 13:31 slaughtered in Nazi Germany
  • 13:32 with eating a chicken.
  • 13:35 When we see that happening.
  • 13:37 When we see the arising of the devaluing of human life,
  • 13:40 the devaluing through abortion.
  • 13:42 All of the things that we see arising in this Gaia worship
  • 13:45 this mother earth worship,
  • 13:47 we know that there is a very extreme element
  • 13:51 that is trying to set up for central control of our lives
  • 13:54 in order to create a dominance of one group over another.
  • 13:59 Now, there's good news in this.
  • 14:01 I know you're waiting for it.
  • 14:03 The good news is that these are the times of the signs
  • 14:05 and that part of this movement
  • 14:08 means that those of us who serve the One, true Living God
  • 14:13 will continue to look for Him as the days progress.
  • 14:23 The LORD puts a premium on human life.
  • 14:25 It's not the same equivalent like Peter does,
  • 14:29 to compare the holocaust to the mistreatment of animals.
  • 14:33 I love animals.
  • 14:35 But we are to worship God.
  • 14:37 Yes, exactly right.
  • 14:39 It really brings up issues about the sanctity of human life
  • 14:42 and explains why there's such controversy
  • 14:44 in our country and around the world
  • 14:45 about where life begins
  • 14:47 and how that works into the worship of the Creator
  • 14:50 and we who are made in His image.
  • 14:52 Right
  • 14:53 Mark Musser is a former missionary to the USSR.
  • 14:57 He's a pastor now in Washington State.
  • 14:59 He's an expert on environmentalism from a Biblical perspective.
  • 15:04 I was able to interview him
  • 15:05 and then I read his book which is incredible.
  • 15:07 And I'll highly recommend it later in the program.
  • 15:10 But I want you to hear my interview.
  • 15:12 I asked him about the origin of the phrase "Mother Earth".
  • 15:20 Gaia is an ancient Greek god that's really at the pinnacle
  • 15:24 or really the beginning of the Greek Pantheon.
  • 15:27 And from there all the other gods sort of come forth from Gaia.
  • 15:30 The mother goddess.
  • 15:31 Yeah, the mother goddess of earth.
  • 15:32 And so now people look at the earth,
  • 15:34 they compare her to Gaia
  • 15:36 and they're going to worship her accordingly.
  • 15:38 And this leads to totalitarianism as well
  • 15:42 because one of the things that environmentalism emphasizes is holism.
  • 15:46 Now in our minds we think that's a good thing.
  • 15:48 Right
  • 15:49 Because it sounds good, we hear it all the time.
  • 15:51 But when you start thinking about holism,
  • 15:53 What it means is everything is mutually independent
  • 15:55 including man and including God.
  • 15:57 They're all placed under that holistic circle of life in the world
  • 16:01 that you can't get out of.
  • 16:03 And that leads to all kinds of relationships
  • 16:06 that are going to compromise you to prevent you
  • 16:08 from acting according to God's image that God made you.
  • 16:10 And they want to keep you down.
  • 16:12 They want to keep you in that position
  • 16:13 to where you're not allowed to do that.
  • 16:16 And this leads to what we call fascism.
  • 16:18 It leads to totalitarian views
  • 16:22 and people are not able to act freely anymore
  • 16:24 because of these mutually interdependent requirements
  • 16:27 of nature that you can't act that way anymore.
  • 16:30 And of course, when they start comparing animals
  • 16:32 and mountains and flowers to be your sisters and brothers
  • 16:34 and they have equal rights just like you do,
  • 16:37 I mean the Constitution's gone,
  • 16:38 I mean the laws are gone.
  • 16:39 Now nature has almost priorities over people.
  • 16:42 My thesis is that the holocaust was rather than seen as an industrial operation
  • 16:47 it was actually was a Greek sacrifice of human beings under the Oak Trees.
  • 16:51 That's a horrifying...
  • 16:53 Very similar to Baalism.
  • 16:54 Right
  • 16:56 And if you were to bring Baalism up to date it would be like a Nazi fertility cult,
  • 17:00 which is what it was,
  • 17:02 dressed up in secular terminology.
  • 17:03 It's the horrifying interface of anti-Semitic hate
  • 17:08 and worship of the earth, or occultic worship.
  • 17:13 Yeah, it was a rebellion against... really Genesis.
  • 17:16 Because many of the German philosophers in the 1800's
  • 17:18 were already criticizing Jews for Genesis
  • 17:21 and treating animals like they belong to them.
  • 17:24 And Hitler's favorite philosopher especially
  • 17:27 Arthur Schopenhauer was big on that.
  • 17:29 And the Nazi's passed an animal's right law in 1933
  • 17:32 in honor of Schopenhauer and his anti-Semitic animal rights diatribe.
  • 17:37 And if you look at "The Eternal Jew",
  • 17:39 a famous documentary film
  • 17:41 that the Nazis put out there,
  • 17:43 The animal rights is at the heart of this movie
  • 17:45 right before Hitler talks about he used to send them all to hell
  • 17:48 you know, right in the famous speech that he gives to the Reichstag.
  • 17:52 They show Jewish ritual slaughter.
  • 17:55 And they go through 3 cows and a couple of sheep
  • 17:57 and how cruel supposedly the Jews are
  • 17:59 when they do their kosher slaughter.
  • 18:01 And that becomes the climax of the movie.
  • 18:04 And then after that the Fuehrer shows up the first time.
  • 18:07 And he's going to give the Jews their just desserts.
  • 18:10 And there is no...
  • 18:12 In my opinion, there is a reason why the Jews were also put in cattle cars.
  • 18:15 This was done by design.
  • 18:17 They're going to pay the penalty for what they've done.
  • 18:20 And you know, the Nazis had very strict rules for animals on trains,
  • 18:25 very strict if your animal transport.
  • 18:27 But they were broken when they sent the Jews
  • 18:31 into the death camps of different places in Poland.
  • 18:39 I noticed in your teaching that you also speak about
  • 18:41 political millennialism
  • 18:43 with a kind of a sarcastic or wry view
  • 18:46 that Marx and the attempt to create a heaven on earth
  • 18:53 is actually a misuse of Biblical ideas.
  • 18:58 Explain that to our viewers.
  • 19:00 Well, even the Nazis did this.
  • 19:01 They called it the 1,000 year Reich.
  • 19:03 And so they had a millennialism.
  • 19:05 And Marx had a millennialism too
  • 19:07 in the sense that he didn't think the 1,000 years
  • 19:09 but he believed that mankind through industry, progress
  • 19:12 would eventually set up some form of government
  • 19:16 that was fair to everybody.
  • 19:18 And there would so many goodies that no one would fight anymore.
  • 19:21 I mean, this is just madness
  • 19:23 but they don't believe in a fallen world.
  • 19:26 They do in their own way.
  • 19:27 But they criticize other things like the problem is that
  • 19:30 the Division of Labor created this, so you have the people that have and people that don't.
  • 19:34 So if you get rid of that problem through capitalism and industry
  • 19:37 then we're going to have a good life on the earth.
  • 19:40 And so you have to think about Karl Marx.
  • 19:42 Number one, he does have a Jewish background.
  • 19:44 Secondly, he has a Christian background.
  • 19:46 I believe his dad was a Protestant pastor or something,
  • 19:49 some connection there.
  • 19:51 and those Judeo-Christian values is at the heart of his thinking
  • 19:55 still, even though he rejects all those things.
  • 19:58 Yet he has a forward looking attitude towards the future.
  • 20:00 And that forward attitude towards the future is a Biblical concept.
  • 20:04 Because of those influences people want to bring to bring the Kingdom of God on earth.
  • 20:08 Because this is all predicted in the Old Testament
  • 20:10 for the Jewish people in particular.
  • 20:11 It's countless passages.
  • 20:13 And so now people like Marx, they want to copy it secularly-wise,
  • 20:17 they're going to profane it
  • 20:19 and they're going to try to bring the kingdom in through secular politics,
  • 20:22 whatever it may be.
  • 20:23 We see it all the time as a Jewish person who
  • 20:28 knows Jesus as Messiah and also loves Israel,
  • 20:30 I see my secular brothers and sisters in America particularly
  • 20:34 trying to implement the Jewish concept " tikkun olam ", "repairing the world"...
  • 20:41 without God.
  • 20:43 Yeah
  • 20:44 And then you windup with these kinds of awry systems
  • 20:46 where you're overly green or overly sympathetic to
  • 20:49 an underdog in a way that defies Scripture and defies logic.
  • 20:53 And I see that all the time.
  • 20:54 And I think that's the danger here.
  • 20:56 Yeah, exactly, if you don't believe in the fall of mankind
  • 20:59 you're going to try to recover it.
  • 21:01 Okay how's this going to come about?
  • 21:03 Well they want to go back to the Garden of Eden
  • 21:05 even though they don't think such thing existed.
  • 21:07 And yet they're going to spend all our money in taxes and regulate us to get us there.
  • 21:10 And it's just amazing the things that go on.
  • 21:13 And people don't realize how much the Bible has influenced their thinking.
  • 21:17 I notice you said "spend all our money".
  • 21:20 That's the old joke about socialism works until you run out of other people's money.
  • 21:25 Exactly, Yeah.
  • 21:26 So where do you draw your hope from,
  • 21:28 knowing all that you know and study as deeply as you do,
  • 21:32 where do you draw your hope?
  • 21:33 It's in God's promises for the future.
  • 21:35 He's going to straighten all these things out.
  • 21:38 And we know in the millennium He is going to set up that millennium,
  • 21:41 we can pet the lions like we all want to do today.
  • 21:43 It can't be done if you do it now you're in trouble.
  • 21:45 That's because we live in a fallen world.
  • 21:47 Remember after Noah, the animals are now scared of us.
  • 21:50 At some point God's going to straighten those things out.
  • 21:53 We need to trust Him, He's got a plan.
  • 21:55 And he is going to make nature unbelievable.
  • 21:58 It's during the millennium especially but also the new heavens and new earth.
  • 22:01 These are things to look forward to and it's something that
  • 22:05 in spite of the chaos we see today it's...God has a plan.
  • 22:09 He's marching forward and He's not disturbed by all the things happening around us
  • 22:14 and we shouldn't be either.
  • 22:17 Hi, you know a good question to ask yourself might be
  • 22:20 where else can you find solid Bible teaching
  • 22:23 regarding prophecy for these last days?
  • 22:25 Well Zola Levitt Ministries
  • 22:27 has been doing exactly that
  • 22:29 for more than 35 years and
  • 22:30 will continue with your support.
  • 22:33 Your gifts of financial support
  • 22:35 is what enables us to do this.
  • 22:37 We want to remind you
  • 22:38 there's 3 ways...
  • 22:39 Online, through the mail,
  • 22:41 or just give us a phone call.
  • 22:43 And thank you.
  • 22:53 The valley of Hinnom
  • 22:54 points us to the reality
  • 22:56 of the difference between
  • 22:57 worshipping the Creator or creation.
  • 22:59 Now, we believe in good stewardship
  • 23:01 but it goes only so far.
  • 23:03 Well, we believe in enjoying God's creation.
  • 23:06 He's given it for us to receive from Him,
  • 23:09 that we'll be refreshed by Him.
  • 23:12 He said He'd bring us before streams in the desert.
  • 23:15 But God also gave us a very strong commandment in Exodus.
  • 23:20 He said,
  • 23:28 Not a god that you make depicting heaven or earth or birds or anything in this realm
  • 23:35 but you shall worship the invisible God
  • 23:38 who you see through the creation and through His glory.
  • 23:42 Yeah, and I think that conflict goes back to the very beginning.
  • 23:45 Abel and Cain had this conflict
  • 23:47 where there was a way to God that God chose.
  • 23:50 And then another way, what happened there?
  • 23:52 Well Cain chose to go by the way he chose, right?
  • 23:55 He chose to offer God the fruit of what he thought would be best.
  • 24:00 And that has a lot to do with the worship of earth.
  • 24:03 But Abel said, you know what?
  • 24:04 God covered us, He put the skin on us,
  • 24:07 He redeemed us by the blood and the life is in the blood.
  • 24:10 And Abel offered up the right sacrifice.
  • 24:12 There's really one way.
  • 24:14 And Jesus is very clear that He is (Speaking Hebrew)
  • 24:19 The Way, The Truth, and The Life.
  • 24:21 And that's why we can't worship any other thing can we?
  • 24:24 No, I mean, in Romans 1 it says
  • 24:26 that we cannot change the invisible God with corruptible things.
  • 24:32 We cannot worship things that we make with our own hands.
  • 24:34 You know I'm thinking of a gentlemen that I shared the LORD with Myles
  • 24:39 early on in my faith.
  • 24:41 And he was an atheist.
  • 24:43 And I just simply shared the testimony of my faith.
  • 24:45 And one day he saw a sunset and he called me on the phone
  • 24:49 and he said, you know, I get it!
  • 24:52 I get that there's a Maker behind this beautiful masterpiece that we see.
  • 24:56 So that's what we want.
  • 24:58 That's great.
  • 24:59 So we see that.
  • 25:00 That we are to worship the Creator not the creation.
  • 25:04 And that's the underlying difficulty with "extreme" environmentalism.
  • 25:08 As we said, we want to be stewards,
  • 25:10 but we want to be stewards under the dominion of the Most High.
  • 25:20 You know the Word of God has never lost its true meaning.
  • 25:23 And we can see it even playing out in our world today.
  • 25:26 The first murder was Cain and Abel
  • 25:28 when Cain said my sacrifice is just as good as yours,
  • 25:33 when God said specifically, no, it's the blood of the lamb
  • 25:37 that will redeem and that will cover you.
  • 25:39 It's not your own thoughts or your own fruits or your own way.
  • 25:44 It really depends on whether you believe the Word and you believe the very beginning of the Word.
  • 25:48 Perhaps the most salient message in the entire Bible.
  • 25:51 (Speaking Hebrew)
  • 25:58 If you believe He created it then coming to Him his way and worshipping what He worships.
  • 26:03 What He says to worship is the most important thing.
  • 26:06 You know we have an acquaintance who recently told us
  • 26:08 that two-thirds of humanity should be wiped out.
  • 26:11 This person considers herself an enlightened, new age, forward thinking person.
  • 26:15 Two-thirds of humanity should be wiped out for the sake of the earth.
  • 26:19 How sad to believe that would be inline with the values of God
  • 26:23 or the values of forward thinking.
  • 26:26 But yet we see that all around us.
  • 26:28 Right
  • 26:29 I was taken by Mark Musser's book "Nazi Oaks".
  • 26:32 I'd promised you I would mention it.
  • 26:34 In fact, I recommend that you read Nazi Oaks.
  • 26:38 It was captivating.
  • 26:39 but you can only read a few pages at a time.
  • 26:41 It's so well researched and it's so deep.
  • 26:44 Well, it's sobering to think that there would be
  • 26:46 such a violent reaction against God and for the earth.
  • 26:50 It's that pagan foundation and that Baal worship
  • 26:53 that foundation that Cain fell into that we don't want to fall into.
  • 26:57 We want to remember that we worship the One true God.
  • 27:00 That's right.
  • 27:04 We like to eat organic.
  • 27:05 We try to buy non GMO foods.
  • 27:08 We need to take care of the earth.
  • 27:10 But we just have to be careful not to go to the extreme.
  • 27:13 That's right.
  • 27:14 What we've seen today on this program
  • 27:15 is to be careful to worship our Creator
  • 27:18 and not the creation.
  • 27:20 I love this prayer that we pray each week.
