  • 00:30 female: But I found favor with him and now--
  • 00:33 female: True success is not measured in wealth and power but
  • 00:36 in the estate of one's heart.
  • 00:38 female: I've never been happier and more fulfilled.
  • 00:42 female: I raised him up strictly in the faith, the law and the--
  • 00:46 female: And now I want to give something back.
  • 00:47 female: I believe Elohim meant it to be this way.
  • 00:50 female: She's still a cornerstone of
  • 00:51 wisdom to the family.
  • 00:53 female: But you are always in my heart.
  • 01:06 David Hart: Thank you so much for joining
  • 01:07 us today, I'm David Hart.
  • 01:08 Kirsten Hart: I'm Kirsten Hart.
  • 01:10 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: I'm Jeffrey Seif.
  • 01:11 David: So we've brought you many series recently of men in
  • 01:14 the Bible, but this series is about women in the Bible.
  • 01:18 We need the women, don't we?
  • 01:19 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Yeah, years ago I kind of weighed in on it
  • 01:22 and wanted to bring the story forth, and I'm glad to do it.
  • 01:25 It's a retake of what was done some years ago.
  • 01:27 But the title "She Shall Be Called Woman" resonates in
  • 01:31 today's culture in ways that didn't exist
  • 01:33 when we first titled it.
  • 01:35 Kirsten: Which is very interesting.
  • 01:36 I am a woman. I think that's obvious.
  • 01:39 And I love women, but we do have a certain role in the world and
  • 01:44 biblically, and I'm kind of good with that.
  • 01:46 And we're going to discuss some of, shall I say,
  • 01:49 the most famous women in the Bible but ones that portray a
  • 01:53 godly woman figure, is that right?
  • 01:56 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Yes, now--and I sheepishly get into wanting
  • 01:59 to talk to women about what constitutes
  • 02:01 being a proper woman.
  • 02:02 I'm hardly an authority.
  • 02:03 But as a Bible scholar, as a Bible teacher, I just want to
  • 02:07 look at the literature and bring it forth,
  • 02:09 and the authority's there.
  • 02:11 Kirsten: Well, we appreciate you teaching from the Bible on a
  • 02:16 woman's role, and
  • 02:17 we're going to look at someone now, aren't we?
  • 02:18 David: Right, we take you now to the very first
  • 02:20 woman in the Bible.
  • 02:22 Her name is Eve. Let's go there now.
  • 02:31 Eve: My first memories of life are not like any other.
  • 02:35 I remember awakening in the garden.
  • 02:42 Everything was new and fresh, the sweet fragrance of
  • 02:47 honeysuckle, the tranquil melody of the lark,
  • 02:52 the pleasant fruit on the trees.
  • 02:59 Elohim led me through this glorious paradise to a peculiar
  • 03:04 creature, one just like me.
  • 03:14 You see, I was not born from a mother and father.
  • 03:18 I came forth from a man.
  • 03:28 The moment he looked upon me, I saw his sorrow
  • 03:33 and loneliness turn to joy.
  • 03:38 His heart was now whole.
  • 03:43 My husband, my friend, my love joined in union for life,
  • 03:52 joined together as one.
  • 04:00 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Bible's a beautiful book.
  • 04:02 In the book, Bereshit, what we call Genesis,
  • 04:05 Moses is on record, [speaking in Hebrew]
  • 04:11 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
  • 04:15 We're told as well that
  • 04:17 [speaking in Hebrew]
  • 04:21 The earth it was void, but the Spirit of God
  • 04:24 was moving over the face of the waters.
  • 04:27 God is said to have been in a very creative mood over a number
  • 04:30 of days, each of which ends.
  • 04:32 [speaking in Hebrew]
  • 04:35 It was evening. It was morning.
  • 04:37 Day one, day two, day three, etc.
  • 04:39 Finally, we get to the end of that creative unction.
  • 04:42 In chapter 2, verse 1,
  • 04:44 [speaking in Hebrew]
  • 04:50 That God had made it all and that he then settled
  • 04:54 down to rest some.
  • 04:57 It's interesting, you know, God was in the mood to rest.
  • 04:59 However, things were just cranking up for humankind.
  • 05:03 We're told, in fact, in chapter 1, verse 26, before the rest,
  • 05:07 God says--Moses says
  • 05:09 [speaking in Hebrew]
  • 05:14 That God said, "Let us make man in our image,
  • 05:18 in our likeness."
  • 05:21 Out of the earth there's eret, as in land or there's--the
  • 05:26 word in Hebrew aphar like the dust.
  • 05:28 But then there's this earthy substance in Hebrew, adama.
  • 05:32 The very soil, the essence of the planet, if you will.
  • 05:36 And God reaches down, and from the adama,
  • 05:39 from the earth God makes Adam.
  • 05:42 He makes Adam.
  • 05:44 It's a fascinating story.
  • 05:46 In fact, in the opening salvo we're told that God made Adam in
  • 05:51 his image and his likeness, but not just Adam alone.
  • 05:55 Along with Adam came Chava, Adam and Eve.
  • 06:00 We're told that man and woman, he created them.
  • 06:06 While we're interested in creation generally,
  • 06:08 we're particularly interested in the creation of holy matrimony.
  • 06:14 When God reached out to Adam and made him,
  • 06:18 observed within him was that it was not good for that man to be
  • 06:21 alone and that he was to be complemented by the creation of
  • 06:27 Chava, Eve, who was made by God, who came forth from him.
  • 06:34 It's an interesting combination, and it's the relationship
  • 06:38 between a man and a woman.
  • 06:39 It's the woman's contribution to the man and to life that'll be
  • 06:43 the object of our contention as we continue on.
  • 06:48 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: God made man and God made woman,
  • 06:52 and he gave them the mandate to be fruitful and multiply and
  • 06:55 replenish the earth, and of course we know the story.
  • 06:58 Replenish the earth they did.
  • 07:01 People got to the business of finding love and marriage
  • 07:04 and the race multiplied.
  • 07:06 We learn, however, not long after the creation of marriage
  • 07:10 that things went horribly wrong not with marriage itself as an
  • 07:15 institution as much as with humankind, for while placed in
  • 07:19 Gan Eden, while placed in paradise, things went awry.
  • 07:25 Sin made its entrance onto the stage of the human drama.
  • 07:28 The race was vitiated, defiled, and the rest is history.
  • 07:34 And evidence of things going wrong is attested in the way men
  • 07:38 and women treated each other.
  • 07:41 Well, we know that Cain killed Abel,
  • 07:44 and then we see in the Genesis narrative that one of Cain's
  • 07:47 offsprings, Lamech, went on and killed a man himself.
  • 07:52 In fact, he boasts to his wives of having done so.
  • 07:57 Last I checked, the Bible says that a man was to be joined to
  • 08:00 his wife, not joined to his wives.
  • 08:03 Things went bad, and this interest in acquiring women is
  • 08:07 evidenced of a world gone bad.
  • 08:10 To be sure, there's natural desires,
  • 08:12 sexual desires between a man and a woman,
  • 08:15 but this acquisitiveness, this unbridled lust for the more is
  • 08:20 going to be humankind's undoing.
  • 08:25 In the Bible God made man.
  • 08:26 I want to show you this on the screen
  • 08:28 with a little Hebrew lesson.
  • 08:29 The word for man in Hebrew is Ish.
  • 08:32 Aleph, yud, shin.
  • 08:35 Ish.
  • 08:37 The Hebrew for woman is the word Ishah.
  • 08:41 Aleph, shin, heh.
  • 08:45 The letters common between them are the aleph and the shin.
  • 08:48 But if you look again at the Hebrew,
  • 08:50 you'll see the letter yud.
  • 08:53 And if you look at the Hebrew for Ishah,
  • 08:55 woman, you'll see the letter heh that are unique to each.
  • 09:00 The letter yud and the letter heh in Hebrew
  • 09:03 form the prefix for God.
  • 09:05 It's an abbreviated form of Jehovah, hence the
  • 09:08 understanding that it's God--it's with God that
  • 09:12 women and men are brought together.
  • 09:14 In much the same way absent God from the equation,
  • 09:18 what we're left with is something else.
  • 09:20 In fact, if you take yud and heh out of the words Ish and Ishah,
  • 09:25 you'll see on the screen you're left with the
  • 09:27 letters aleph and shin.
  • 09:29 This is the Hebrew for fire.
  • 09:32 You might recall Paul saying once that God brings men and
  • 09:35 women together and that it's better to marry than to burn.
  • 09:39 You take God out of the equation and what
  • 09:41 you're left with is fire.
  • 09:43 Well, marriage as an institution is on fire.
  • 09:46 What I want to do is take you to the biblical text and show you
  • 09:50 how we can extinguish it by bringing biblical water to bear
  • 09:55 to help individuals understand this great institution,
  • 09:58 what we call marriage.
  • 10:08 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: I believe that it's important for marriage to
  • 10:10 endure beyond love's first impulses, for as we mature,
  • 10:16 better that we go through life together.
  • 10:20 To help facilitate stronger bonds,
  • 10:22 I think we do well to look at the beginning of the bond,
  • 10:25 the biblical instruction for it, in fact, and Genesis chapter
  • 10:30 2 is the go-to place.
  • 10:31 And so if you will open up your Bibles, please,
  • 10:33 I'm going to read from mine, and therein we find a lonely man.
  • 10:39 In fact, in verse 18 of the second chapter starts off
  • 10:42 [speaking in Hebrew]
  • 10:44 "And God said."
  • 10:45 And what does he say?
  • 10:47 He says what we all know without him saying it.
  • 10:49 [speaking in Hebrew],
  • 10:52 that it is not good for man to be alone.
  • 10:54 "And I will make him a helpmate."
  • 10:57 There's a desire to find that other half,
  • 11:00 and here that's given expression to in the biblical literature.
  • 11:04 You know, Adam doesn't know where
  • 11:06 that other half's going to be.
  • 11:07 So God puts him to sleep, and he's going to wake up and
  • 11:10 discover someone beyond his wildest dreams.
  • 11:14 It's a beautiful story, and there's a point in the story
  • 11:16 that's worth underscoring.
  • 11:18 In verse 23, the man has woken up and he--his eyes
  • 11:22 alight upon Chava, upon Eve.
  • 11:25 And we're told he says here
  • 11:27 [speaking in Hebrew]
  • 11:32 He looks at her and he says,
  • 11:33 "That's what I'm talking about."
  • 11:35 He says, "This is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh."
  • 11:40 Look how attracted he is.
  • 11:41 You can just feel the energy in his voice.
  • 11:44 [speaking in Hebrew]
  • 11:47 She shall be called woman. And why?
  • 11:49 Well, we're told [speaking in Hebrew].
  • 11:52 Because this woman came forth from the man.
  • 11:57 And then there's some embellishment on top of this
  • 11:59 that's worth noting seriously.
  • 12:02 We're told then
  • 12:03 [speaking in Hebrew]
  • 12:07 "And therefore a man leaves
  • 12:10 his father and his mother."
  • 12:11 Inasmuch as she was separated from him--separation is
  • 12:15 underscored, that a man and a woman leave
  • 12:18 their family of origin.
  • 12:19 And we're told [speaking in Hebrew]
  • 12:23 And they cleave--that Adam cleaves to his wife,
  • 12:26 [speaking in Hebrew],
  • 12:29 and they become one flesh.
  • 12:31 And you know what the secret to that one flesh is?
  • 12:34 It's commitment, learning to love,
  • 12:36 learning to go through life together from adolescence and
  • 12:39 beyond, as we continue on in our series on women of the Bible.

  • 13:42 and for our mother figure we picked Hannah, Hana.
  • 13:46 And we're going to go to Israel now for her story.
  • 13:58 Hannah: My son, I know we were together only for a short
  • 14:02 time, but you are always in my heart.
  • 14:07 I think of you daily.
  • 14:12 And you may not understand now, but I made a vow to Yahweh that
  • 14:18 if he would turn my affliction and give me a son, I would give
  • 14:26 the child back all the days of his life.
  • 14:32 That is why you'll live in the house of Elohim
  • 14:35 and serve the priests.
  • 14:38 Listen carefully and obey them, for it is their charge to teach
  • 14:43 you the ways of Yahweh.
  • 14:47 Samuel, I will always be your mother and you
  • 14:51 will always be my son.
  • 14:54 Wear this to keep you warm and to remember me
  • 14:58 when you are lonely.
  • 15:05 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: As the book of 1 Samuel, or Shmuel,
  • 15:07 begins, Yerushalayim, Jerusalem is in the hands
  • 15:10 of the Jebusi, the Jebusites.
  • 15:13 David is soon to come, but he doesn't
  • 15:14 appear in the narrative yet.
  • 15:16 In fact, there is no king in Israel.
  • 15:18 The Jewish people don't have a central leader.
  • 15:20 There is no capital city.
  • 15:22 What you have are individuals living out in
  • 15:24 various farming communities.
  • 15:26 They live in villages, they live in humble homes just like--here.
  • 15:31 The Bible isn't well studied.
  • 15:33 Some, like this fellow, were given to the study of scripture,
  • 15:35 but by and large it's been neglected for years, but still
  • 15:39 there are righteous souls trying to eke out an existence and find
  • 15:43 some security in a rather insecure world.
  • 15:47 Here in Ephraim, there was a man, Elkanah,
  • 15:49 who had a wife Peninnah and a wife Hannah.
  • 15:53 Hannah is particularly noted to be a beautiful woman, a sincere,
  • 15:57 devoted woman, but she's just given over to trouble.
  • 16:01 She lived a rather rural existence.
  • 16:03 You know, they farmed.
  • 16:06 They learned to domesticate livestock and use it.
  • 16:10 They gathered the fruits of the earth.
  • 16:12 In effect they live a peasant life.
  • 16:14 They didn't expect much, but a woman still expects love.
  • 16:19 And it's not too much to ask to find love from a man,
  • 16:22 and it's not too much to ask for children.
  • 16:26 Oh, Hannah was a broken woman.
  • 16:28 We learned this story in 1 Samuel,
  • 16:30 how she's so very vexed.
  • 16:32 Not only is she unable to bear a child,
  • 16:35 she's really unable to bear the angst generated because her
  • 16:39 rival, the other woman in the house,
  • 16:41 is given to childbearing and is forever putting a thorn
  • 16:45 in the side of Hannah.
  • 16:47 Why is that?
  • 16:48 Because her husband loved her so very much.
  • 16:51 He loves her even though she doesn't have a child.
  • 16:54 And he even says to her at one point,
  • 16:56 "Dear," he says, "am I not worth more to you than ten children?"
  • 17:00 You know, on one hand I can appreciate his sentiments;
  • 17:04 but the answer in truth is no, you're not.
  • 17:07 Why is that?
  • 17:08 Because she was driven so much for a desire to bear.
  • 17:12 And what does she do?
  • 17:14 I'm sure you can recall the story.
  • 17:16 She goes to the tabernacle, the mishkan,
  • 17:22 this worship center that was set up and long since neglected and
  • 17:26 there she prays, "God, please, I beg you.
  • 17:29 Please, please give me a child.
  • 17:31 And if you do that, I will dedicate that child to you."
  • 17:35 You know what happens?
  • 17:36 She does just that, and God does just that.
  • 17:40 She's going to conceive a child.
  • 17:42 Oh, marvelous is this woman.
  • 17:45 And there's a beautiful story that unfolds here of a woman's
  • 17:49 love for a child, and this is our beginning point as we
  • 17:52 consider motherhood, this sacred act of bringing life into the
  • 17:56 world, and we'll consider this as we study
  • 17:59 the Torah on motherhood.
  • 18:02 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: What does the scripture say?
  • 18:04 [speaking in Hebrew]
  • 18:08 This is quoting Hannah, who's there beseeching God
  • 18:11 at the mishkan saying that, "If you'll but give me a child,
  • 18:15 I'll give him back to you all the days of his life."
  • 18:19 This in the Shmuel text is the equivalent of what we find in
  • 18:23 the Matthean Gospel, where Yeshua, where Jesus is on record
  • 18:26 saying, "If you'd seek first the kingdom,
  • 18:28 I'll give everything else to you."
  • 18:30 This woman is saying, "God, I want to put you first."
  • 18:33 And she says that believing that God is going to,
  • 18:35 in fact, act on her behalf.
  • 18:38 I think it's very interesting for a variety of reasons,
  • 18:40 one of which is here you're looking in the Hebrew Bible and
  • 18:43 discovering a woman who is authorized to make a vow.
  • 18:48 This, to me, is reflective of a number of things,
  • 18:50 one of which is the fact that she isn't construed as simply
  • 18:53 the love slave of the male of--in her life, nor is she
  • 18:57 simply domestic help to work around the home and serve the
  • 19:01 family's various material needs and interests.
  • 19:03 To be sure, she does bear children and, yes, she helps
  • 19:06 around the house, but this is a woman that's empowered.
  • 19:09 She's authorized in various ways.
  • 19:12 This is evidenced, in fact, because later on when it comes
  • 19:14 time to fulfill the vow, her husband Elkanah says, "Well,
  • 19:17 shall we now give this child over the Lord as per your vow?"
  • 19:21 And she says, "Tis not the time."
  • 19:23 And she in effect is told by him,
  • 19:25 "Listen, do whatever your pleasure is.
  • 19:27 Do what seems best."
  • 19:28 Here again there's an example where a woman has social power,
  • 19:32 and this is striking.
  • 19:34 Today I've discovered in a past career as a police officer many
  • 19:38 examples of men who neglect and abuse women,
  • 19:41 who treat them as property, to push them around.
  • 19:44 And I observe in the world today as well that some religious
  • 19:47 traditions seem to sanction a vision of a woman as just the
  • 19:50 property of a male, a love slave,
  • 19:53 someone to do his material bidding.
  • 19:55 The Hebrew Bible, however, casts the vision for a woman of worth,
  • 20:01 a woman of value.
  • 20:02 This is evidenced in creation, in fact,
  • 20:04 where we discover that she is made from Adam and in some sense
  • 20:08 then is her equal, not just his property.
  • 20:13 I'd like to sit down and take you to the time when Moses stood
  • 20:17 up and delivered the luchots, the commandments.
  • 20:20 You might recall he goes to Har Sinai,
  • 20:23 to Mount Sinai, and he comes down with the luchots,
  • 20:26 with the commandments, with these--the table of ten.
  • 20:30 Principle in that table is a mandate.
  • 20:34 It's observed in the book Shemot,
  • 20:36 in Exodus chapter 20, verse 12.
  • 20:39 Therein the Israelites were told to honor
  • 20:42 your father and your mother.
  • 20:45 It's extremely important not just for men to honor their
  • 20:50 wives, but it's important for the children to honor
  • 20:53 the father and the mother.
  • 20:55 And the reason why I want to underscore mother here for the
  • 20:58 young is because later on when this is repeated in
  • 21:03 Vayikra, in Leviticus there in the 19th chapter
  • 21:06 the order is reversed.
  • 21:08 Moses there reiterates and says this time,
  • 21:11 "Honor your mother and your father."
  • 21:14 Hence the importance of valuing a mother.
  • 21:17 Inasmuch as we see women so vested in the care of their
  • 21:23 young, so it is imperative upon the males of the species to
  • 21:27 value the mother and for the children of the species
  • 21:30 to value the mother.
  • 21:31 This is underscored in the Hebrew Bible with the notation
  • 21:36 that one must needs do so in order for their days to be
  • 21:40 prolonged upon the earth.
  • 21:42 This is one of the few of the 613 examples where there's
  • 21:45 instruction and then it says do this in order that you
  • 21:49 may be successful in life.
  • 21:52 This point is underscored beautifully,
  • 21:54 it seems to me, in the Hebrew Bible in the book Devarim.
  • 21:58 Devarim in Hebrew means the words.
  • 22:01 It's known as deuteronomos from the Greek meaning second law.
  • 22:07 Therein in the 22nd chapter, there's what seems
  • 22:11 to be an insignificant story.
  • 22:13 Here, Moshe Rabbeinu, Moses is on record saying that if you
  • 22:17 walk along the path and stumble upon a nest,
  • 22:20 or if not on the path, if you see a nest that just happens to
  • 22:23 be upon the ground, one that fell from a tree branch,
  • 22:27 and as this one here has fallen and eggs have fallen out,
  • 22:31 here the instruction is that if a person is walking along the
  • 22:34 path or discovers a nest and that person says,
  • 22:39 "I want to eat the young."
  • 22:42 The person is told that if the mother bird is around,
  • 22:45 they are not allowed to touch the eggs.
  • 22:48 The instruction in 22:6 and 7 is that one must needs--shoo away
  • 22:52 the mother, and after doing so, then the person
  • 22:57 can take the eggs.
  • 22:59 And after this law, one of the 613, it says do this in
  • 23:04 order that your days might be prolonged upon the earth.
  • 23:07 Here we're looking at the few examples,
  • 23:09 Spartan texts, where there's a commandment to do this in order
  • 23:13 that you may prosper, and why is that?
  • 23:15 So sacred is the bond between a child and a parent,
  • 23:21 that it extends not just to humans but to the smallest
  • 23:25 of creatures, the birds.
  • 23:27 The Hebrew child is instructed that the relationship between a
  • 23:30 mother and a child is sacred, and so it is that the children
  • 23:34 must needs honor, respect, and help the mother.
  • 23:37 If this boy learns this at a young age,
  • 23:39 you know what's going to happen?
  • 23:41 Inasmuch as he's learned to honor his mother,
  • 23:43 he's going to grow up, and you know what?
  • 23:45 He's going to honor his wife.
  • 23:48 Would we not do well to open up the Hebrew Bible and come to
  • 23:51 terms with the obligations to honor the women in our world,
  • 23:56 our daughters, our mothers, our wives?
  • 23:59 ♪♪♪
  • 24:11 Kirsten: There are so many things about Hannah's story that
  • 24:14 speak to me, and I have to say one of the things I love about
  • 24:19 her is she was extremely bold.
  • 24:24 She went into a man's world.
  • 24:26 She went into the tabernacle and she wasn't supposed to,
  • 24:29 but she was bold to call on God for what she needed.
  • 24:33 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Yes, and to me, fascinating,
  • 24:34 the male in the story, the priest was just a worthless
  • 24:38 piece of human wreckage, clueless, didn't even know what
  • 24:40 a praying woman looked like, and he's supposed to be
  • 24:42 in charge of the religion.
  • 24:44 She certainly is a hero in that story, and she gave birth to a
  • 24:47 hero of the story, Samuel, who really gets the ball rolling in
  • 24:51 a change of dynamics in biblical literature.
  • 24:54 This woman was incredible, and she was at a certain place in
  • 24:57 time and she was a significant personality.
  • 25:01 David: Can I say this, too, that we were just in that spot
  • 25:04 in Shiloh where she--where all that took place?
  • 25:06 And I know that you have some amazing moments in
  • 25:10 Shiloh where all that happened.
  • 25:12 Kirsten: I do, that's one of my favorite places.
  • 25:15 They say that, you know, Ha-Kotel, the Western Wall is
  • 25:18 the closest to where the Holy of Holies was,
  • 25:20 but in Shiloh, you can--you're right there where the tabernacle
  • 25:23 stood for hundreds of years.
  • 25:25 And we don't think about that spot much,
  • 25:29 but that's where Hannah went in and she was bold before God and
  • 25:32 said, "Please give me a son.
  • 25:34 I'll give him back to you, but this is what I want."
  • 25:37 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: That's right, the tabernacle was there
  • 25:38 for hundreds of years.
  • 25:39 And to your point, a lot of people in trying to understand
  • 25:42 what life is all about, what gender is all about,
  • 25:47 a lot look internally and they look to the future
  • 25:51 and they look at the present.
  • 25:53 We want to look at the past.
  • 25:55 We think that it's important to look at the book and what's
  • 25:59 modeled in there, what's taught there and--to bring that forth.
  • 26:05 We think it would alleviate a lot of confusion
  • 26:09 that exists in modernity.
  • 26:10 What do you think?
  • 26:12 Kirsten: Well, I agree, and I've got to jump back to the
  • 26:14 beginning of the program real quick.
  • 26:16 You talked about--you know, we're teaching on Eve,
  • 26:18 and we give Eve a bad rap.
  • 26:21 You know, she ate the apple, or she ate the fruit.
  • 26:24 But we have all these self-help things right now in the world,
  • 26:27 and she hears Eve dealing with hormones and there wasn't anyone
  • 26:31 else to learn from what a woman is like,
  • 26:34 and I think she did the best she could.
  • 26:37 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: I'm less inclined to be overly critical
  • 26:39 of her, in part 'cause even in the literature the instruction,
  • 26:41 don't eat the fruit, she wasn't around then.
  • 26:44 It was her old man that heard it.
  • 26:46 There's a fail to deliver the information.
  • 26:49 He's ultimately responsible for it.
  • 26:51 Sadly, individuals laid the blame of the problem in the
  • 26:55 human species on womankind because of Eve,
  • 26:58 but I think that's overly simplistic and problematic.
  • 27:01 Kirsten: Ooh, this is good. It's good stuff.
  • 27:03 David: There's more women coming in this series.
