Episode: “Days of Noah”
The Days of Noah portend the appearance of Messiah Yeshua in the clouds to gather His people and set up His Kingdom on Earth. Three primary signs of Genesis 6 include global explosions of population, violence, and rampaging evil.
Series: “Watch Therefore and Be Ready”
Watch Therefore and Be Ready encourages this generation to be aware of prophetic fulfillment, live expectantly, and be ready for Messiah’s return. David and Kirsten Hart present this eight-part series that features teaching from Dov Schwarz, guest analyst Dr. Mark Hitchcock, reports from Israel with Chaim Malespin, Hebrew lessons, and music written by Zola Levitt.

Caption transcript for Watch Therefore and Be Ready: “Days of Noah” (3/8)

  • 00:05 Brethren, my hearts desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved,
  • 00:11 for there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek,
  • 00:14 for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him.
  • 00:39 Welcome to our series, "Watch Therefore"
  • 00:41 here on Zola Levitt Presents.
  • 00:43 I'm Kirsten Hart.
  • 00:45 And I am David Hart.
  • 00:46 We are continuing on Bible prophecy,
  • 00:48 and today's program is,
  • 00:50 to always be aware,
  • 00:52 and to live expectantly.
  • 00:53 We'll be on location in Israel
  • 00:56 with our Guest Teacher for the whole series, Dov Schwarz.
  • 00:59 We'll hear from Bible Prophecy Experts,
  • 01:02 a report from Israel again, from Chaim Malespin,
  • 01:06 we'll have a weekly Hebrew Lesson,
  • 01:09 and in the Studio here,
  • 01:11 Our Guest Analyst, Dr. Mark Hitchcock.
  • 01:14 Right now Dov is teaching
  • 01:17 on the Days of Noah, at the Jordan River.
  • 01:20 Let's go there now.
  • 01:27 In the days of Noah Elohe Yisrael , the God of Israel
  • 01:32 judged the world with water.
  • 01:37 And He says in His Word, the time is coming where
  • 01:41 He's going to judge the earth with fire.
  • 01:45 An important part of watching for Messiah Yeshua to
  • 01:49 come for His people in the clouds
  • 01:51 like He promised He would,
  • 01:54 and to be ready
  • 01:56 is to understand the days of Noah.
  • 01:59 Why?
  • 02:01 Our Messiah Yeshua tells us in Matthew Chapter 24,
  • 02:14 There are characteristics in Noah's day that can
  • 02:17 help us understand the generation
  • 02:21 that will see the coming of the Son of Man,
  • 02:24 as this generation's
  • 02:26 characteristics will work in concert with the birth pains
  • 02:30 and also the fig tree, Israel, blossoming.
  • 02:35 So we can look at Genesis Chapter 6 beginning in verse 1
  • 02:39 to find out the first characteristic of Noah's day.
  • 02:44 It's a population explosion.
  • 02:47 Because in Genesis Chapter 6, verse 1 the Bible says,
  • 02:58 How does that impact us in our generation?
  • 03:01 What does that mean to us?
  • 03:03 Could we possibly be living in the days of Noah?
  • 03:06 Think of this.
  • 03:08 Just about 200 years ago there were one billion people on planet earth.
  • 03:14 And in just 200 years there's an increase of 6 billion people.
  • 03:23 That's right, now there are 7 billion people on planet earth.
  • 03:27 You know what I'd call that?
  • 03:29 A population explosion like never before,
  • 03:33 like never before.
  • 03:35 Here's another thing to consider.
  • 03:38 Messiah Yeshua said when talking about the birth pains,
  • 03:40 that famine would be one of the significant signs of His coming.
  • 03:47 Famine.
  • 03:48 Just 200 years ago there were a billion people on planet earth.
  • 03:54 Now there are almost that many hungry people on planet earth.
  • 03:59 My goodness, what generation do we live in?
  • 04:02 What generation do we live in?
  • 04:05 So that's one of the primary signs
  • 04:09 that we now are in the days of Noah.
  • 04:13 6 billion person increase on this planet.
  • 04:19 You know what that makes me want to do?
  • 04:21 That makes me want to watch and pray.
  • 04:25 That makes me think and consider, could we be that generation?
  • 04:33 And my prayer is that's what this makes you do.
  • 04:38 Our Messiah Yeshua loves us,
  • 04:41 He wants us to be prepared for his coming,
  • 04:45 and the days of Noah was a warning to His people,
  • 04:50 Wake up! Be ready!
  • 04:52 Watch! Pray!
  • 04:54 Be who you are in this generation.
  • 04:57 Cause I think we'll see in just a moment these are the days of Noah.
  • 05:06 God has so beautifully
  • 05:09 given us the end of the story,
  • 05:11 and I challenge people,
  • 05:12 you need to understand what God is doing.
  • 05:14 As you see the news headlines
  • 05:16 many Christians, sad to say,
  • 05:18 they are afraid of the times in which we're living in.
  • 05:22 I will grant, we live in some tough times,
  • 05:25 but I'm not moved by the times, and the reason why,
  • 05:28 because I understand the end of the story.
  • 05:37 Scripture gives us a look at the end of the story.
  • 05:41 We do read in Scripture
  • 05:42 about the good times to come,
  • 05:44 and the difficult times.
  • 05:46 Now to focus on those good times,
  • 05:48 let's go to our friend Chaim Malespin in Israel.
  • 05:58 Historians believe that behind me is
  • 06:00 the exact spot where the Tabernacle stood.
  • 06:03 What a picture of God's presence,
  • 06:07 that Tabernacle filled with the Glory.
  • 06:09 You know, the exact dimensions, we see here, the rectangle,
  • 06:13 is the place you can see where the altar of the "shewbread" would have been.
  • 06:21 They call it the " challah " in Hebrew.
  • 06:24 As you enter in further there would be that curtain,
  • 06:27 there would be the incense,
  • 06:28 there would be the Great Menorah,
  • 06:30 and there would be the Ark of the Covenant.
  • 06:33 That's where they would sprinkle the blood on the Day of Atonement and ministered.
  • 06:39 We know the Ark of the Covenant eventually was stolen,
  • 06:41 as the City was burned by the Philistines.
  • 06:43 But you know what?
  • 06:44 The Glory has not departed.
  • 06:46 It was taken to Dagon's statue temple,
  • 06:51 and then Dagon's statue would fall every night.
  • 06:53 The Ark was eventually taken on to Obed-Edom, who was blessed.
  • 06:57 Eventually, King David brought it up to Jerusalem,
  • 07:00 and the Capital was expanded to Jerusalem.
  • 07:03 But we can never forget our roots, how we began,
  • 07:07 and the story of restoration that continues yet today.

  • 07:57 We live in a topsy-turvy world
  • 07:59 where news events are sometimes twisted
  • 08:02 often leading to untruth.
  • 08:04 Here at Zola Levitt Presents we believe it's important
  • 08:07 to tell the truth of God's Word - the Bible,
  • 08:10 and we believe it should be proclaimed to Israel and the nations.
  • 08:14 If you believe the same way
  • 08:16 please consider us in your monthly giving support.
  • 08:20 Thank you.
  • 08:28 Our Founder, Zola Levitt had a heart for Israel,
  • 08:31 but he also had an eye for prophecy being fulfilled in our time.
  • 08:37 And being honest today,
  • 08:38 the only way that we can continue to bring you this message
  • 08:42 is by your support,
  • 08:43 from you, our wonderful family.
  • 08:45 And we so appreciate that.
  • 08:47 Let's go now back to Dove Schwarz in Israel.
  • 08:57 Remember that in the days of Noah Adonai Eloheinu , the Lord our God,
  • 09:03 judged the earth with water.
  • 09:06 And He's promised in His Word also that there would come a day.
  • 09:10 And I believe that day is soon,
  • 09:12 that He's reserved the earth for judgment another time,
  • 09:16 only this time with fire.
  • 09:19 Why?
  • 09:21 Well, as it was in the days of Noah
  • 09:22 so it will be with the coming of the Son of Man
  • 09:24 when He comes to judge the earth.
  • 09:27 And if we look at Genesis 6
  • 09:29 not only was there a population explosion in Noah's day,
  • 09:33 but also there was violence that covered the earth.
  • 09:37 Interestingly one of the Hebrew biblical words for "violence" is " Hamas ",
  • 09:44 you know, the Terrorist Group that frequently attacks Israel.
  • 09:48 You know, I could give you many statistics and share geopolitics with you
  • 09:56 and how the armies of the world are poised for war.
  • 10:01 But instead there's another statistic I'll share.
  • 10:06 Tragically, this will make the point.
  • 10:10 Did you know that every year 42 million babies
  • 10:15 are murdered on planet earth inside their own mother,
  • 10:20 commonly called "abortion".
  • 10:24 And here's a way to think of it that I pray really hits home.
  • 10:30 If you would add up the number of deaths
  • 10:33 caused by war and genocide over the last 2,000 years,
  • 10:38 and then combine them,
  • 10:41 that would be about the same number
  • 10:42 of babies who have been killed since 1980.
  • 10:48 It's staggering!
  • 10:52 And so...these are the days of Noah.
  • 10:55 Today we live in this time where such violence has covered the earth
  • 11:02 that every year 42 million babies are killed.
  • 11:07 Now, if Able's righteous blood cried out for judgment to the Lord,
  • 11:12 here's a question,
  • 11:14 What must be the sound of all these babies
  • 11:19 crying into the ears of the Creator of the Universe?
  • 11:26 You know what it makes me want to do?
  • 11:28 It makes me want to "Watch therefore and be ready",
  • 11:33 for the Son of Man is coming very soon.
  • 11:36 And my prayer is, that's what it makes you want to do as well.
  • 11:48 You know, with all of the chaos in the world and,
  • 11:53 Jesus said that it would be this way before He returns.
  • 11:56 And all of the indicators,
  • 11:58 all of the signs of the times,
  • 11:59 all of them point to the return of our Savior,
  • 12:03 and the only peace that Planet Earth will experience
  • 12:07 is when Messiah comes back,
  • 12:09 and that's my message.
  • 12:10 I warn this world.
  • 12:12 I warn them that Jesus' coming back,
  • 12:14 you need to surrender your life to Him,
  • 12:16 because, again, time is winding up.

  • 13:54 Contact us to reserve your dream of a lifetime.
  • 13:59 David and I, we are grandparents,
  • 14:02 and something that we talk about is
  • 14:04 leaving a financial legacy, if we could,
  • 14:07 to our children and grandchildren.
  • 14:09 But I think even more than a financial legacy
  • 14:12 would be a gift, honestly, of taking your family,
  • 14:15 your kids, your grandchildren,
  • 14:17 taking your whole family to Israel.
  • 14:20 And that's the kind of legacy that you
  • 14:22 leave in their hearts verses just financial.
  • 14:24 I say, a gift of a lifetime
  • 14:26 is a trip of a lifetime.
  • 14:28 You can find all of our information
  • 14:29 right here on levitt.com
  • 14:32 Now let's go to our Hebrew Lesson in Israel.
  • 14:41 Shalom Havarim
  • 14:42 We're here in Jerusalem.
  • 14:44 One of the words you'll hear in a restaurant or
  • 14:47 at a dinner table when you're served food
  • 14:49 is beteavon which means "good appetite",
  • 14:53 or like the French say, "bon appetit"
  • 14:56 It actually means "in appetite" beteavon .
  • 15:01 So when you serve your meal,
  • 15:03 or when I give my children something to eat,
  • 15:05 I can say, beteavon .
  • 15:06 It's like saying, "Have a good meal"
  • 15:09 So this week, when you serve food
  • 15:11 or when you're sitting at a restaurant
  • 15:12 and you're about to eat,
  • 15:13 you can say, beteavon .
  • 15:17 So I have to be honest here today
  • 15:19 that there are some Hebrew words that
  • 15:21 are a lot easier to comprehend
  • 15:23 and to pronounce.
  • 15:24 This one, I've got to say,
  • 15:26 I'm having a little bit of trouble with,
  • 15:27 so you can help me.
  • 15:28 But it's a little easier for me.
  • 15:30 It was a lot of years ago,
  • 15:31 but I did take French in High School,
  • 15:34 So the meaning of our word today beteavon
  • 15:38 means "bon appetit"
  • 15:40 which means, "good eating".
  • 15:42 So it's kind of like you're getting a two for one.
  • 15:43 There's a little French,
  • 15:45 and there's a lot of Hebrew.
  • 15:46 beteavon
  • 15:47 And if we had a pile of homemade humus,
  • 15:50 right here,
  • 15:52 we could take our chips and dip it and say,
  • 15:53 beteavon
  • 15:55 That does make me a little hungry.
  • 15:56 Good eating.
  • 15:57 I'm ready to eat too.
  • 15:58 Right now, let's go on location
  • 16:01 with Dov Schwarz.
  • 16:08 A 3rd primary characteristic of Noah's day I'll share with you
  • 16:13 is in Genesis Chapter 6 verse 5.
  • 16:28 Messiah Yeshua said in John Chapter 3 that
  • 16:32 the reason condemnation would come to this earth
  • 16:36 is that man loved what is in Hebrew called " choshek ".
  • 16:41 Men loved "darkness" rather than "light", " ohr " in Hebrew.
  • 16:49 The Light of Messiah Yeshua has come into the earth
  • 16:52 but man loved " choshek ", man loved "darkness" instead of the Light.
  • 16:58 And that darkness is sweeping the earth today.
  • 17:02 And how do we see that manifested?
  • 17:03 Well, in the USA, in all 50 States
  • 17:10 now it is law that men can marry men and women can marry women.
  • 17:16 Across the country there are arguments now about
  • 17:20 letting men who want to be women and dress like women
  • 17:24 into ladies bathrooms and locker rooms and so forth.
  • 17:28 Men want to be women and women want to be men.
  • 17:33 Across the world pedophilia, sex with children is sweeping the earth.
  • 17:40 Human trafficking, sex trafficking.
  • 17:43 Listen, I could go on and on.
  • 17:47 I can't even watch a Baseball Game in America now
  • 17:51 because of the commercials that are so dark and bizarre and strange.
  • 17:57 You know - Hot dogs, Apple Pie, Baseball?
  • 18:03 No, things are changing so fast
  • 18:06 it's hard to recognize the societies we once grew up in.
  • 18:11 Why?
  • 18:13 Because increasingly every intent of the heart of man is becoming evil.
  • 18:18 And Social Media and technology
  • 18:21 is spreading it around the world at such a rapid rate.
  • 18:26 What's this a sign of?
  • 18:28 The coming of the Son of Man.
  • 18:31 These are like the days of Noah.
  • 18:36 And I have some good news!
  • 18:38 King Messiah Yeshua is coming for His people, in the clouds.
  • 18:42 And He says, "Watch therefore and be ready."
  • 18:46 The Lord has a plan.
  • 18:47 Sin is abounding on the earth but don't worry,
  • 18:49 where sin abounds Grace abounds all the more.
  • 18:53 And that Grace can be flowing through our lives
  • 18:57 into the " choshek ", into the "darkness"
  • 19:01 and we will overcome the darkness with the Light - Messiah Yeshua.
  • 19:06 God bless you.
  • 19:13 Well, the hope is the blessed hope,
  • 19:15 the hope is in Christ, our Messiah.
  • 19:18 You know, He is the One who did it all,
  • 19:23 He paid it all.
  • 19:26 There's nothing else, in Him.
  • 19:27 He said, With me all things are possible,
  • 19:30 and because of that we can hope in hopeless times
  • 19:34 because He is the One that stands at the end of those times
  • 19:37 and says, Come to Me and I'll take you in.
  • 19:41 So, He's our hope.
  • 19:44 If I thought that all there was to this world
  • 19:47 was what we see around us,
  • 19:50 when I wake up in the morning
  • 19:51 if I thought somehow this was the Kingdom,
  • 19:53 I would be the most depressed man in the world.
  • 19:54 But what I realize is a better day is coming,
  • 19:57 and I wish it were today, even so, come Lord Jesus,
  • 20:00 but if not, we want to continue to walk by faith and not by sight,
  • 20:04 put our hope and faith in the Lord.
  • 20:06 The method of sanctification
  • 20:08 is the same as the method of justification.
  • 20:09 I became a part of the family of God
  • 20:11 by trusting in Jesus Christ,
  • 20:13 who died and rose again for my sins,
  • 20:14 and I walk daily by trusting in Him and His Word,
  • 20:16 and look for that better day.
  • 20:30 We are now back with Dr. Hitchcock,
  • 20:32 and we are so glad you are at this desk.
  • 20:34 We have lots to talk about today.
  • 20:37 We've been discussing,
  • 20:39 and it's hard not to go to the
  • 20:41 discouraging part of what's coming,
  • 20:44 and we were taught today by Dov,
  • 20:46 that it's like the Days of Noah.
  • 20:48 What were the days of Noah?
  • 20:50 Was it horribly depressing and hard?
  • 20:53 Is there hope?
  • 20:55 Well, it was difficult.
  • 20:56 That's why the Lord, I think,
  • 20:57 uses that analogy.
  • 20:58 Those were dark times.
  • 21:00 You think about the Lord coming,
  • 21:02 the deluge that flooded the whole world
  • 21:03 accept 8 people.
  • 21:04 So we can't ignore that fact.
  • 21:06 They were difficult days, morally I think,
  • 21:08 and difficult spiritually,
  • 21:11 in which Noah lived.
  • 21:12 I think the encouraging thing
  • 21:14 we need to remind ourselves is,
  • 21:15 Noah lived for the Lord for 120 years building the ark.
  • 21:19 And during that time he must have been
  • 21:21 maligned and mocked and made fun of,
  • 21:24 yet he was faithful to the Lord to continue
  • 21:26 to do day after day for 120 years what God called him to do.
  • 21:30 And none of us will probably live 120 years,
  • 21:33 but we can be faithful for our 50, or 70, or 80 years, whatever that is.
  • 21:38 We also have to remember
  • 21:39 Noah didn't have the Holy Spirit living inside indwelling him.
  • 21:41 He didn't have the Bible, the Scriptures that we have.
  • 21:45 So we have so many more things that Noah didn't have to
  • 21:49 arm us, to equip us, to give us hope
  • 21:52 and to give us the strength that we need
  • 21:54 to live in times like these to be faithful to the Lord.
  • 21:57 So in no way do we want to be defeatists.
  • 22:00 We want to understand if Noah was faithful in his day
  • 22:03 we can be faithful in our day.
  • 22:05 In fact, we have every more reason to be faithful than he did.
  • 22:08 I'm a worship leader,
  • 22:09 and to be honest with you,
  • 22:11 as I lead worship weekly,
  • 22:13 and as I look out and see people
  • 22:15 really not into worship,
  • 22:17 I feel like...
  • 22:18 I'll sit down after we worship,
  • 22:19 and say to Kirsten,
  • 22:21 I feel like there's defeat out in the congregation.
  • 22:24 What is going on?
  • 22:25 Do you see that in mainline denominations?
  • 22:28 Sure, that's right,
  • 22:29 and I see it in our church.
  • 22:30 Our culture's difficult.
  • 22:31 There's kind of a moral malaise out there,
  • 22:34 People out there are swimming upstream against our culture today.
  • 22:37 I think it was Ray Stedman, the great preacher years ago,
  • 22:40 said when people lose God, they lose themselves.
  • 22:43 It's like people out there on our culture just kind of lost themselves.
  • 22:46 And believers are influenced by this.
  • 22:48 There's a lot of bad news, it's discouraging, the news.
  • 22:51 Then they have struggles in their own lives.
  • 22:53 A lot of them have children who are being caught up in
  • 22:56 the current of this culture that we're in today
  • 22:58 and being influenced by that,
  • 23:00 and it's very discouraging for many people.
  • 23:02 That's why I think we need good churches
  • 23:04 where the worship is exciting and it's moving,
  • 23:08 and where the Word of God is preached.
  • 23:10 And we go and we hold one another accountable,
  • 23:12 and have fellowship with one another.
  • 23:14 We need that every week to go have, I call it, have a covenant renewal,
  • 23:19 to go out and be edified and built up so that we
  • 23:22 can go out and face the world that we live in.
  • 23:24 I have such a passion for worship,
  • 23:26 and I think my spirit grieves
  • 23:28 when I see people not responding.
  • 23:31 Yeah, same thing when you're preaching.
  • 23:34 Sometimes people are like that,
  • 23:36 but I think what we need to do though in our churches
  • 23:39 I think, is to just continue to be steady and be consistent.
  • 23:41 If we do that for week after week, month after month, year after year
  • 23:45 in our churches, and we're faithful,
  • 23:48 and the people can see that at least in some measure in our lives,
  • 23:50 it can be an encouragement to them.
  • 23:52 And they're going to see us fail as well in our lives,
  • 23:55 and they see how we handle that and how we respond to those things.
  • 23:58 So, there's a lot of hope that we have in these days in which we live.
  • 24:01 They are dark days and I don't think we want to try to sugar coat that,
  • 24:05 but we can be faithful in these times in which we live.
  • 24:08 That's right.
  • 24:09 And it's so wonderful
  • 24:10 that God has given us
  • 24:11 people in the Bible like Noah.
  • 24:13 He persevered,
  • 24:14 He made it through and
  • 24:16 God took care of him through those times,
  • 24:18 as He will take care of us.
  • 24:19 That's right, we have the whole Old Testament,
  • 24:21 all the Scriptures in the early church,
  • 24:23 martyrs in the early church,
  • 24:25 "Foxe's Book of Martyrs",
  • 24:26 books like that,
  • 24:27 that tell us about the faithfulness of many others.
  • 24:29 The ultimate one we emulate though is our Lord Jesus Christ,
  • 24:33 His faithfulness.
  • 24:34 Great thought today.
