Episode: “Bonus interviews”
Extended interviews with individuals appearing in this series but also bonus interviews with believers who live Israel.
Series: “The God of Miracles”
We can’t go far in the Bible without encountering a miracle. When the universe was created, the Spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters (Genesis 1:2). When all seemed hopeless, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day (Matthew 28:6). In this nine-part series, we show our miraculous God at work from Genesis to Revelation, with teachings from the Holy Land by Dr. Jeffrey Seif. We also hear testimonials from those who have experienced the Lord’s supernatural hand in their own lives.

  • 02:17 Ray: Sure, of course I believe God is in the business
  • 02:21 of doing good and revealing himself through such things.
  • 02:27 To give a personal testimony, as a young man, I was in a
  • 02:34 congregation where the pastor had experienced a miraculous
  • 02:39 healing from cancer.
  • 02:41 He had lung cancer.
  • 02:43 Through that healing, he committed himself, in fact, the
  • 02:47 way he would tell the story is, he had a prayer of communication
  • 02:52 with God where he said if you'll heal me, I'll do whatever you
  • 02:54 call me to, and he was in the hospital at the time, and there
  • 02:58 was a miraculous healing, and the cancer was removed
  • 03:00 from his lungs, and he left and he served the Lord.
  • 03:04 And at one service, he was teaching on miraculous healing,
  • 03:09 and my father, again, who worked in the space program, had a
  • 03:12 gentleman that he worked with that was paralyzed,
  • 03:15 in a wheelchair.
  • 03:17 If I remember correctly, he had a motorcycle accident that left
  • 03:20 him--he had a spinal cord injury and it left him paralyzed.
  • 03:23 And my father invited this gentleman from work, he said,
  • 03:25 "Why don't you come?"
  • 03:27 So, this gentleman comes to a service in his wheelchair,
  • 03:30 into the service, the pastor's teaching, at the end there's a
  • 03:33 time of prayer, and with my own eyes, I watched a man who came
  • 03:37 in in a wheelchair that could not walk, stand up, walk, and
  • 03:41 push his own wheelchair out the door at the end of the service.
  • 03:45 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Mike, it really is an honor to be with
  • 03:47 you, and thank you for taking the time.
  • 03:50 You serve as a leader in one of the more significant
  • 03:53 Messianic works in Israel.
  • 03:55 Beyond the miracle of your own existence and ministry here, in
  • 03:59 your own life, does the story of miracle resonate specifically?
  • 04:03 Mike Mott: My wife and I were married for ten years, we
  • 04:06 couldn't have children, and at one point I remember asking the
  • 04:12 Lord as we were getting ready to start having children, "Can we
  • 04:15 have children and what is that going to look like?"
  • 04:18 And the Lord spoke something into my heart that at the time
  • 04:21 I didn't understand it, but he said this is gonna be an issue
  • 04:25 of faith for you, and I thought, cool, an issue of faith.
  • 04:31 This is exactly how God always works.
  • 04:35 He'd just done some miraculous things in our lives at that
  • 04:37 point, and so I was like, big trust factor on the Lord.
  • 04:43 This is gonna be an issue of faith, won't this be fun?
  • 04:46 But then ten years of not getting pregnant goes by, and
  • 04:51 we've gone to the doctors, had all the tests done, finally the
  • 04:55 doctors say this is what we call as unexplained infertility.
  • 05:02 There's no explanation for it.
  • 05:04 You should be able to have children.
  • 05:07 So, we began to fast and pray, and trust the Lord for something
  • 05:13 that now we couldn't make happen, and the doctors couldn't
  • 05:17 make happen, and within two or three months, we finally get the
  • 05:23 phone call from the doctors, you're pregnant.
  • 05:28 And for us, it was a miracle because there was
  • 05:31 no other explanation.
  • 05:33 We'd done everything that we could do.
  • 05:36 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: It is such a pleasure to be with Martha
  • 05:39 Stern, thank you for being here.
  • 05:41 Martha Stern: Thank you.
  • 05:42 Dr. Jeffrey Seif: Now, that last name resonates in our

  • 05:47 Jewish Bible" was that pioneering work to bring to life
  • 05:51 certainly the Jewish connection to the Jesus story through a
  • 05:54 translation, and you were involved and

  • 06:06 Martha: I met a girl, I was gonna go stay in a commune, and
  • 06:10 she picked me up at the airport, and took me to the commune where
  • 06:15 she was also staying, and she looked at me, and she said,
  • 06:18 "Wow, you look like you need help,
  • 06:20 why don't you try praying?"

  • 06:24 She said, "Yes, pray that God will teach you how to pray,

  • 06:30 And I was sort of like, what?

  • 06:46 oh, well, I've done yoga, I've done this, I've done that,
  • 06:49 what's the difference?
  • 06:50 I'll read the Bible.
  • 06:52 So, I started reading the New Testament,
  • 06:54 and I was just amazed.
  • 06:55 I was just amazed, because it was about Yeshua, Jesus, and his
  • 07:03 friends, and I realized I wanted to be a friend of Yeshua.
  • 07:07 That was the way I put it.
  • 07:08 I thought, I really need to know for sure.
  • 07:10 And I sort of looked up at the sky, and I'm like, God,
  • 07:14 if you're there, and then I thought, well, God, this is God
  • 07:17 I'm talking to, right?
  • 07:18 He created the whole universe.
  • 07:20 He did everything.
  • 07:23 I mean, so if it's really God, and he's really real,
  • 07:26 he can send me a sign.
  • 07:28 I wanted something real.
  • 07:29 I didn't want to just feel good, like when you meditate,
  • 07:32 you know, you can feel good, but I wanted a sign.
  • 07:35 And I'm sitting on the beach, and I said, well, send a giant
  • 07:39 seashell, I thought something real though,
  • 07:42 I wanted a specific thing.
  • 07:44 I didn't wanna just have a feeling.
  • 07:47 And five minutes later, this guy came walking down the beach with
  • 07:50 his dog, and he just walked on down the beach, and then five
  • 07:54 minutes later, he came back and he had this long, thin stick,
  • 07:58 like the kind when the trash guys pick up trash in the parks.
  • 08:01 It was a very long, thin stick, and it had, like,
  • 08:05 a piece of paper on it.
  • 08:06 I went to look, and it was not a piece of paper on the stick,
  • 08:10 it was this seashell.

  • 09:22 And this was the height of the pandemic, mid 2020, so all

  • 09:50 your age, and based on the fact that you live with cerebral
  • 09:54 palsy, I don't think that you'll ever have children.
  • 10:00 And then you add to that that if you do become pregnant, there is
  • 10:05 a very small risk, although a real one, that your intercranial
  • 10:09 pressure will go beyond normal levels, because you do live
  • 10:14 with residual hydrocephalus.
  • 10:16 male: From when you were born, yeah.

  • 10:20 And so, my husband and I took all of this in, and we hung up
  • 10:24 the video call, and we looked at each other, and we just said,

  • 10:33 simply laying out the risks and the odds that were in front of
  • 10:36 me if I wanted to have a baby.
  • 10:39 And we decided to go forward, and I had scheduled an in-person
  • 10:44 appointment with him about three weeks into the future, because
  • 10:46 that was the soonest I could get on his books, and two weeks
  • 10:50 later, I call up his office, and I speak to a nurse, and I say,
  • 10:56 "I just got a positive pregnancy test,
  • 10:59 what do you want me to do?"
  • 11:02 So, she said, well, you can go to your regular OB/GYN,

  • 11:11 He's like, I'm done with that, I've got success now, you know.
  • 11:14 [laughing]
  • 11:16 Jill: She said you can go to your regular OB/GYN, or if you
  • 11:19 would like us to do some early ultrasounds to see what we can
  • 11:23 see, then we're happy to do that for you, and I said yes,
  • 11:26 that is what I want.
  • 11:28 And so, I went in, and they found the heartbeat right away,
  • 11:32 they eventually graduated me from their specialized practice
  • 11:36 to my regular OB/GYN.
  • 11:39 My OB/GYN saw me every single month of my pregnancy, and gave
  • 11:44 me an ultrasound every single month of my pregnancy, because
  • 11:49 again, we didn't know how living with cerebral palsy was going to
  • 11:54 affect me or the child that I was carrying.
  • 11:59 So, she monitored me very closely, and when I was 38 weeks
  • 12:03 and four days, she decided to do the C-section about ten days

  • 12:12 tell that I was running out of room.
  • 12:15 And my blood pressure wasn't horrible, but it also wasn't

  • 13:09 How did you do that?
  • 13:13 Israel Hanna: When I woke up, you know, when I got out of

  • 14:54 David: He laughed at you, I think, didn't he?
  • 14:55 Israel: Yeah, he laughed at me, and I says I have a Bible

  • 15:03 Could this Bible possibly be yours?

  • 15:23 And they returned this Bible right here in my hand, after it
  • 15:26 had been lost for a year-and-a-half, and I took this
  • 15:29 Bible on Sunday, and I went and I preached for the first time
  • 15:33 since the accident back in that hospital, because God had
  • 15:36 returned my Bible, and that was a miracle.
  • 15:39 David: I just wanna go back a little bit about your daughter
  • 15:41 who passed again.

  • 16:03 In my Bible, Joel chapter 2 talks about the restoration of

  • 16:23 got five beautiful daughters.
  • 16:26 Tragedy, difficulties, trials and tribulations will do one
  • 16:30 of two things.
  • 16:32 They'll either make you bitter or they'll make you better.
  • 16:35 I chose to listen to the voice of the Lord, even under those
  • 16:39 difficult situations, and it made me a better person.
  • 16:43 And I encourage everyone who is going through a bitter,
  • 16:47 difficult time in their life, to think about that and turn back
  • 16:51 to God and say, God, I really need your help, and then listen
  • 16:55 for that voice.
  • 16:57 God loves you.
  • 16:59 God is a God of miracles, and he will change your life if you'll

  • 20:03 I'm so glad that I knew better as a child.

  • 20:09 You're gonna see some testimonies now from individuals
  • 20:12 of students that are Bible College students.
  • 20:15 I'm their professor, I asked, "Who'd like to share?"
  • 20:17 You're gonna see some examples of those

  • 20:22 male: You're a daughter of a missionary, are you not?
  • 20:24 You were in Costa Rica.
  • 20:26 Caeli Frasier: Yes, I lived there for three months.
  • 20:27 And one night, it was in the middle of the night, and it was,
  • 20:30 like, four in the morning, and I'm asleep, my sister's in the
  • 20:33 bed next to me, and we're both asleep, sound asleep, it was
  • 20:36 great, and I feel something on my leg, and I lean down to swipe
  • 20:40 it off my leg, because our house was infested with cockroaches,
  • 20:43 so I just though, oh, must be a cockroach in my bed.
  • 20:46 male: That's typical for Costa Rica.
  • 20:47 Caeli: Yeah, right, it's very normal.
  • 20:49 No screens on the windows, so bugs come in all the time, so it
  • 20:51 was a normal thing, just thought it was, like, a normal bug.
  • 20:55 I swipe it off, and it stings my hand, and I jump out of bed
  • 20:57 freaking out, wake my sister up, and so I turn the lights on and
  • 21:01 I'm like, just help me move, like, the blanket around so we
  • 21:03 can find out what it is.
  • 21:05 So, we flip the sheet over, there's nothing there, and she's
  • 21:07 like, wait, there's something heavy on this side of the sheet.
  • 21:10 So we flip it back over, and there was, like, a scorpion,
  • 21:12 like this big in the bed.
  • 21:15 And I'm freaking out, I run to my dad's room, and I'm like,
  • 21:18 Dad, there's--and I'm, like, freaking out, and my sister from
  • 21:21 the other room yells, "There's a scorpion in our room."
  • 21:24 So, my dad jumps out of bed, grabs a bowl and a spoon, and he
  • 21:28 runs in and he smacks the scorpion.
  • 21:30 male: He spoons 'em to death.
  • 21:31 Caeli: He spoons 'em to death.
  • 21:33 male: That is a man after my own heart.
  • 21:34 That's brilliant, I love it.
  • 21:36 Caeli: Tosses it outside, comes back inside, my hand is,
  • 21:37 like, swelling and red, and I was, like, Dad, can you just
  • 21:41 pray for my hand.
  • 21:43 Like, I don't know what else to do.
  • 21:44 Like, can you just pray for it?
  • 21:45 So he prays for my hand, and the pain leaves instantly, and we're
  • 21:48 like, okay, like, praise the Lord, like, thank you, Jesus.
  • 21:51 Gabby Flook: So, my hamstring was torn, like, the muscle, but
  • 21:55 in that, it also had ripped off a tiny piece of my growth plate,
  • 21:59 like where my leg connects to my hip.
  • 22:01 My youth pastors were pushing me to go to this youth camp,
  • 22:04 and of course I was like, absolutely not, you're crazy.
  • 22:06 And then my mom ended up making me go, and then one night during
  • 22:11 worship, I was feeling, like, okay, I'm obviously here
  • 22:13 for a reason, so let's see what God is really about.
  • 22:16 Like, let's see if he'll do anything.
  • 22:19 I kind of, like, put my hands up.
  • 22:20 I had never been, like, really engaged in the Holy Spirit,
  • 22:23 so I had no idea what that looked like.
  • 22:26 And then this girl came up to me and she was like,
  • 22:29 hey, can I pray for your leg?
  • 22:31 And I don't know how she knew, because I was wearing pants, so
  • 22:35 even though it was taped, like, she couldn't see anything.
  • 22:38 But I was like, yeah, sure.
  • 22:40 After a few minutes praying, like, I noticed the pain that I
  • 22:43 had been feeling every day, like, all the time, it just
  • 22:46 stopped, and she prayed for a little bit after that, and then
  • 22:50 she stood up and she's like, hey, do you feel anything?
  • 22:52 And I was like, yeah, like, it doesn't hurt.
  • 22:54 And she didn't say anything else, she just walked away.
  • 22:57 And after that, like, I went outside, I tumbled a lot,
  • 23:01 and I never felt any pain again.
  • 23:04 Joy Robb: I purposely vocal abused my voice.
  • 23:07 Like, I just push myself to limits, I'd go past things
  • 23:10 I shouldn't have.
  • 23:12 The physical part, it became a raspiness.
  • 23:15 Even if other people could not hear it, I heard it.
  • 23:19 I called it scars in the back of my throat.
  • 23:25 I'm pretty sure I had vocal nodules at least twice.
  • 23:28 I had, like, just about every symptom you could think of.
  • 23:34 And then one day, the professors were talking about how they
  • 23:38 would help their vocal students, like, find their identity,
  • 23:43 uncover their identity of the voice God gave them, and
  • 23:47 I thought that was really interesting, and I thought, huh,
  • 23:50 God, it would be really nice to have my old voice back.
  • 23:56 Because before, when I was a kid, I hated my voice
  • 24:00 so much that I covered it.
  • 24:02 Like, I changed the tone and the sound of it.
  • 24:05 I did not like that sound either, so I covered again,
  • 24:09 but God, when I was in chapel and just praising God,
  • 24:15 I felt something shift.
  • 24:19 I felt my old voice come back, like, the voice I had
  • 24:21 when I was, like, fourth or fifth grade.
  • 24:23 The childish voice came back, and then over the week, he took
  • 24:28 that childish voice and matured it into a young lady's voice.
  • 24:32 Dickinson Deji: There was a man of God, the general
  • 24:35 overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God,
  • 24:36 we came to Kenya to integrate a new parish.
  • 24:40 And then he prayed, because we've had several miracles
  • 24:43 according to Acts chapter 19, verse 12, where it said God
  • 24:47 brought so many miracles through Apostle Paul,
  • 24:50 and then the sick were healed of many of the diseases
  • 24:52 because of the handkerchief, just by touching.
  • 24:55 male: That's right, Scripture.
  • 24:56 Dickinson: It's by faith, so we prayed on the handkerchief,
  • 24:58 and the handkerchief was given to us.
  • 25:00 I just kept the handkerchief inside my bag,
  • 25:02 I didn't touch it.
  • 25:04 We moved to Ghana, I think the hotel I was staying,
  • 25:07 I had to go behind the hotel to buy bread, just bread.
  • 25:12 So, I went into a coffee--no, a store,
  • 25:17 another woman touched me and said, "Man of God,
  • 25:20 can you pray for me?"
  • 25:21 She said, "I've got three of my children upstairs," in the same
  • 25:26 building where I was buying the bread, that they were sick,
  • 25:30 they'd been hospitalized for the past two days, and I said,
  • 25:33 "What happened?"
  • 25:34 They said they had viruses and I don't want to lose them.
  • 25:38 And the Holy Spirit started telling me that you have a
  • 25:41 handkerchief given to you, so I was struggling in my heart.
  • 25:45 It was my first trip to Ghana.
  • 25:47 I thought why should I go over there?
  • 25:48 Imagine if you go there now, you pray, and nothing happens,
  • 25:51 but I had to build up my faith.
  • 25:53 I took the handkerchief, and I moved down.
  • 25:55 I get in there, I find all the children laying on the bed with
  • 25:57 drapes hanging over them, and I had to play with the kids, sort
  • 26:01 of, you know, a sense of humor, and I took out the handkerchief,
  • 26:05 I held their hands and I prayed.
  • 26:07 In the name of the Father, the name of the Son, and the name
  • 26:09 of the Holy Ghost, let every form of infirmity in the life
  • 26:11 of these children, the lot, take it off.
  • 26:14 I prayed in faith, and then the kids were laughing,
